I never got 50 coins in a day so i have no hatred for that, i get 50 coins now. I like everything about this update, raid wise i just really hope they rotate every few weeks or every month. seeing the same pokemon in raids will be ANNOYING, i just don't know what other Tier 4's you would use that will attract as much attention as Snorlax and Ttar..... MAYBE Dnite and Blissey but no one likes using those two anymore.
Gyms, raids, coins? New system yay or nay?
In my area;
Gyms are seeing faster turn overs and a wider variety of mons. The fact that CP is no longer the determining factor of placement seems to be working. The days of seeing the same 5 type of mons holding all the gyms for days on end are finally over.
Raids: in my opinion are pretty easy and need to be harder. Soloing shouldn't even be an option. It is pretty easy for anyone to get rares this way, what's the point of even farm Dritinni and Larvitars if you can just get the evoled form from the raid. You can just decided what rare you want to add to your collection today. But I have seen alot more chatter on social sites ,organizing raid groups and even picking up people carpooling to hotspots.
Coins: 50 a day at first look seems to be low. Unless you were one of the few who had a spot in the few local gyms and you had enough team members to level it, and high enough level you weren't getting that much. This way someone 22 level can get a few coins also. Seemed like if you didn't have a 3000+CP mons you we're couldn't get a spot or we're immediately bumped.
All in all I think they are on the right track.

I'm embarrassed by your answer.... you like everything about the new update because it makes it oh so easy for you ... that's Weeeeak!!!
No real person likes the update ... there are new things which make things interesting for a short while but all in all ... most players agree it's been a massive disappointment .
The weak would Love the update on the other hand since they like to be rewarded for doing the least amount of work with the least amount of effort.
^Since you posted the same comment the other day, containing even some of the same words, may i ask what you had to do to get your 100 (?) coins a day before the gym change?
Did you have to take down 10 gyms every day (or at least some, lets say more than 5) and claim your reward? Orr did you have stable gyms so you only had to collect every morning you got up?
I know the new update has many bugs and flaws but at least you have to go out to do something, may it be joining raids or reclaiming gyms. You dont get free coins anymore by doing nothing, which i think is good news.
least amount of work? It's pretty obvious it is the same amount of work.... You fight the gym and put down your pokemon. your payout is different based of how long not how much. Your comment is like saying someone is a better runner because they ran the 40 yard dash faster when the other person ran faster.... they are both running. And you gotta be alittle more open minded instead of going right to the point of saying most players agree it's a disappointment, i would say 50/50. And new things that make things interesting for a short while? wait til they fix the kinks, because for the most part....Niantic usually does fix the kinks. Sorry that you felt embarrassed, but i would suggest not taking a comment so seriously that you feel embarrassed.
Tell that to the people who couldn't catch them even after the raid battle.... oh and also the people who couldn't find enough people to show up to that raid. People who had 8,000 coins apparently had enough incubators too.... they could hatch oh so many eggs and just continue to hatch Lavitar. Sometimes people have to remember this is a kid game. It is a game created after Pocket Monsters.... Seriously.... you wanting it to be harder is like asking a 5 year old to get better at UFC when you keep knocking him out in the first 30 seconds. Stop just thinking of Hardcore players and think of the Community as a whole.
Problem is the bell swung too far one direction...
Right now, it's easy for everyone and low level people...
Before, high level people had benefits, now, no one does...It makes leveling worthless. High IV is near worthless, defenders are worthless...See the trend? You actually want your gym to fall, just 1 a day though.
This is why you have little league, minor leagues, major leagues...Everyone is in the little leagues now and the more dedicated trainers simply want something to work towards, that's all...holding gyms WAS the endgame previously, now, there are none.
This is probably why many people are upset, they simply have nothing to work towards anymore. No goals, no challenges, no eventual game probably. I say raids will get stale after the 20th, 30th one...but holding gyms is gone now so there will be little left to work towards, for everyone.
Again, I understand why it was done and agree all players should get things to do and earlier gyms locked out a lot of people, but what we have now certainly isn't the long term answer...and was worst...At least before, if you leveled up, you could start owning some gyms.
For a game called Pokemon Go, walking was nerfed since hatching eggs and getting buddy candy is FAR easier by doing 1 raid in a busy area, get up to 6 rare candies (30km walking!).
For me it is different. More than 95% of my village is blue (mystic). There are so few opposing teams attacking so basically our pokemon are stuck in the gyms.
There are few opposing gyms so we can't attack.
We don't get 50 coins a day, so we can't buy incubators and extra raid passes.
I think the update is a big improvement, but where I am at we are limited to one raid a day and collecting.
