My dragonite new moveset

I had evolved five IV 90+ dragonite before, all gave me steel wing. After fighting raids for 8 times today, I finally got the fast TM and I use on my IV 96 steel wing dragonite. Now my dragonite moveset is dragon tail and dragon claw. I want to know if this moveset is more better than dragon tail and outrage?

as a defender, it's great! but outrage is better for attacking. imho

I'll agree with this because if I'm dodging I like two faster moves.

But the set is great for both OP congrats.

On Dragonite DT/O is better for offense but DT/DC is better for defense. However, in the new gym setup Dragonite is not a good defender.

If that Dragonite isn't a good defender then nothing except Blissey and Snorlax are.

But there is no defending gyms now anyway so it's really not an issue,

Dragonite was a marginal defender before; looked great on paper, and had tons of great matchups, but the counters were too common, and too hard of a counter (particularly now that there's just been an ice event and everyone has cloysters and piloswines).

Now that they increased the damage it takes from ice counters by nearly a third, it's not a viable defender - doesn't even get a chance to use a half-bar charge move when at full CP before falling over.

DB/DC is already not too far behind from DT/O. DT should increase the overall damage output of DC. So no one knows for sure until somebody does the DPS calculation.

I have a L36.5 95iv sw/dp (14/15/14) and L34.5 89iv sw/dc (15/13/12). A/D/S
Should i use the quick Tm on any of these nite?

I find DB/H, DB/DC, DT/O and DB/O all superior. DT/DC is best for defense but Dragonites are no longer viable defenders.

Who need a good defender untill reward for attacking will be introduced? But dragonite in a gym gives your teammates a chance to get dratiny candy by damping useless nanb.

Dragon tail/dragon claw may make for an interesting defender and a strong attacker. However, Dragon Tail/Outrage is the best Dragonite set available to you.

They're close, 2 Outrages = 220 base damage in 7.8 seconds. 3 Dragon Claws + 2 Dragon Tails = 180 in 7.3 seconds + 18 energy.

DC does 1.5 damage per energy so 18 energy is sort of equivalent to 27 damage, so ~207 base damage but more flexibility in dodging, which will result in more damage dealt before fainting.

It's not exact since I've not calculated the actual damage dealt in a real battle, but it should give you a rough idea about how close the moves are.
