Potential issue with coin reward
The new rate at which defenders hoard coins it takes around 8,3 hour for a mon to reach the cap. In my small city team territory is well stablished with north always being mystic west valor and southeast instinct. Wouldnt it be to every ones best insterest to adopt a rotating gym ownership? let defenders gather the coins during the night and next day M moves to I territory, I moves to V territory and V moves to M territory. Every one gets a chance of having the cap daily.
Gyms are supposed to be a competitive feature but if the players general IQ is sufficient every one will eventually figure this out and more and more people will start pushing for the pattern..
Edit: Am i missing something that prevents this from happening?

Its not about people's IQ....its about many other factors...not how smart people are.
Mostly the issue will be lacking the essential communication and organisation for this to happen consistently and without mistakes.
(also need to keep in mind 'outsider' players who are not part of the plan coming and interacting with the gyms)
Anyway yeah, thats just my opinion, Im pretty sure any person with a brain can fathom the logic behind this if you explained the idea, its just getting it to actually happen is the tricky part.
As for me...im just gonna keep playing as normal, dont think its worth all the bother/effort tbh for 50 coins per day.
I was not picturing it happening consistently and without mistakes but if a good portion of players are pushing the pattern it could happen more or less consistently. It would rarely be near perfect but the average results could outweight the ocasional outsiders, random flippers, etc. As for the communication i think the only thing needed is to actually be aware that it is happening. The major technical problem i see is the number of players being alot bigger than the number of gym slots
Thats why i said people should be aware of the pattern. As it was pointed out in the comments and i agree it doesnt have anything to do with iq people just need to be aware. And if u choose to go against the pattern ur not dumb u just like to spread anarchy or go againsts masses =P it doesnt matter if its clockwise or counterclockwise
That would require impressive communication on everyone's part. There is no in-game chat and your idea would technically benefit only the same few people.
Also in order to have a "successful rotation" to gather max coins, all the gyms would have to be torn down at the same time. People have different schedules and that would be impossible.
Ideal for max coin gain, but kinda redundant doing the same thing over and over night after night.
This isn't taking into account the people who aren't in the so called "communication circle" that randomly take gyms on their own time and put their own pokemon in gyms.
At the end of the day, if it does work, it all equates to .. 50 coins, aka 50 cents if you decide to buy coins in the shop. Not trying to be rude but I think everyone can place their efforts into something else.
It doenst have to be that coordinated.. since it only tales 8 hours to cap whoever feels like doing the fliping can do it anytime during the day and rest can just pass by and drop a mon. the gyms will be inactive during the night unless some one spoofs to our location and mess things up. Plus it doesnt have to be 50 coins.. sometimes u get 50 others get 30 or 40 or if something goes wrong even less but more often than not u will gain a good amount
You're assuming people care about mutual best interests. There's a spiteful moron around here who cares more about hassling me than earning coins for himself. His main account is red, so with this new gym system, when he finds me first in a blue gym that's full, he kicks only me out, then switches to a secondary low-level blue account just to block my spot, so neither of us can get anything out of that gym. Shaving is somewhat to be expected, but it takes a special kind of pettiness to do it the other way around just to antagonize someone for no reason.
Not to mention the fact that in town a few miles away, the red team has decided that they own every single gym around, so their goal is to not let either of the other teams hold a single gym. So yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath for any sort of cooperation.
