Time in Gym v. Time Defended

Can someone explain this differences between these times. This is the only pokemon I have ever put in this gym.

Edit: This rhydon was the first pokemon to go into this gym after the update.

To be honest, There is a line right there that says "Total Gym Activity" So my interpretation is, everything under that line it Total for the gym. The time under the pokemon is how long it has been there.

I was the first person to put a pokemon into this gym, from a grey empty gym after the update.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, was talking about Total for you. For Example in a week, you have 3 pokemon there over that span. It should say the total time YOU have had pokemon there and total time YOU have fed pokemon there berries.
