First Impression
Alright, so here is my first impression of the new gyms. I like almost love this update so far. I said it before this will prove as quality over quantity, Better to take care of 3 gyms for 3 days than to take care of 20 gyms for 3 hours. Personally everyone was talking about laying down pokemon immediately after the reveal and then it being taken over. i have left 3 pokemon at gyms (Alakazam, Steelix, Arcanine) and in that order have stayed there for 14,14,15 hours. Not even my highest Mons either, just probably my favorites, Which is EXCITING. I also saw people were saying within minutes their CP had dropped by a certain amount. I do not know if they fed them berries at the beginning or not but i fed my Alakazam a berry when i left him at the gym and have YET to go down at all. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that you can see the pokemon at gyms on your profile screen, and their motivation, and time spent there. I just found out this morning, I was the last one in gym so to defeat battling pokemon better before they hit my pokemon why not feed the Dnites and Stronger pokemon in the gyms? So i did that, you get 20 Stardust per time fed. I find that amazing, that itself should prove to be a better stardust collector than the old gym format. But in the end i like this update a lot, if you do not please give it time. Also, speculation here.... but i think they set raids to level 35 and higher for now to limit the users to Hardcore players and Spoofers to also track and find who does what raids at what time. Obviously if you do a Raid in Oakland then 15mins later do one in Denver, Niantic has you and will implement lifetime bans. Also, Anyone else notice the circles around pokestops? do those refresh? i commonly notice them around stops i have not visited for some time, or ever since the update. Thanks for reading, Please let me know what you think of the update in the comments!

I see still a lot of the same pokemon, but double weakness pokemon go down way easier and faster now.
The gym system doesn't work that well if you are not on the biggest team. I took over a gym, my pokemon got kicked out in 56 minutes. When i was battling to get it back, 2 others put their pokemon in, while biking past the gym.
So it would be great if they make it inpossible to put a pokemon in a gym that is under attack and give maybe something like 1 coin for bringing a gym down.
The only people who really like this update I think are the last battlers of the day...before bedtime...That way, you can sorta get your 4-10 coins before the daily sweeper comes in and takes you out.
If you put a mon in before that and someone takes it out, you aren't the "last one" and you will get nothing or very little...
Sure, you're in there for 14-15 hours so far, but I'd guess if you had to tear down a fresh level 6 gym and get knocked out in 45 minutes, you'd be griping too...
Usually, the people getting kicked out are by spoofers or in populated cities. I believe Niantic is trying to ACCURATELY get rid of spoofers and as for populated cities i believe the Number of gyms and pokestops make up for that difference. I do not have a sponsored raid within 20-25 miles of me. I laid down those pokemon at 6pm EST, Spoofers tend to not really have a specific spoofing time either. While you're in bed or at work someone will take your gym. Old system is number of gyms you take, i do not have many gyms around me. everyone talking about how they have 8k coins saved up, they don't know what to do with them anymore. Whelp, now coins will be scarced, trust me. When my pokemon sit there for a week, i wont like it either. But for now I like more than i dislike about this Gym rework.
