yes, i think it is better

  • harder to gym shave for legit players (non-spoofers)
  • cant co-operative with other teams anymore
If you wanna give other team coins, you will lose coins.

Those 2 very positive things for starters

I would also say its nice to see cp loss of defenders, so gyms will eventually get wrecked even by noobs

Could be wrong but from what ive seen its genius. Groups are now hanging out in gyms keeping them healthy. So whenever anyone comes by even if they take down the gym it'll be back up in seconds. So basically coins will be very limited meaning players will have to buy them. Again its just my experience I haven't gotten a single coin all day.

Yes, if you rlly want coins you need to get pokemon back into gym if it is taken down.
There is no other solution anymore.

I'd love it if they actually banned spoofers instead of this "shadow-ban" nonsense. They're clearly teleporting around and poaching gyms as soon as the extra 5 spots open, so rather than ban individual pokemon Niantic should ban the whole account. I thought that's what they were supposedly trying to do, but the shadow-ban thing means they know people are cheating and letting them (with the slight caveat on certain pokemon caught while cheating... maybe they'll give negative coins when they return, that'd be great).

Niantic "permanently banned" rooted phones instead of those cheating methods. ;(

I like the idea of no repeat pokemon, but they could've still had had 10 Pokémon slots. 6 Pokémon to a gym is still too easy. Maybe 6 spots and 4 more spots that require prestiging?

But at the same time the motivation system allows for live defending, so I guess that makes up for it

Motivation drop, that's what make gyms too easy. After second round battle animating consumes more time than fight itself, but every pokemon should be defeated 5 times, pretty boring...

Way too early to tell! Be open minded ;)

Jury is still out but so far not seeing much to like from a rural player perspective. It took way too long to take down a rival 4 pokemon gym and it was a snoozefest fighting the same pokemon 5 times in row with declining CP.

A lot of the fun for the wife and I was driving around the countryside and finding friendly gyms tucked away in remote places and prestiging them up.
