After evolving to a Charizard, the question is raised again. Which fire-type is best (worth powering-up)?

Arcanine w/ 84% IVs and Fire Fang/Flamethrower

Charizard w/ 89% IVs and Air Slash/Overheat

I also have a Typhlosion and Flareon, but those were ruled out in the last thread. Once again, thank you for your help!

I assume u are looking for an attacker into the grasses? If so, the answer is clearly Charizard. Flying type gives u a double resistance, which is as good as being immune. Also Overheat is simply amazing and u can just reroll the quick move to get Fire spin.

Yes, an attacker is what I'm looking for. Is Air Slash not a good quick move (against grass)?

I didn't take rerolls into consideration with my response. A charizard that knows firespin as opposed to airslash in combination with overheat is pretty legit.

Its definitely gonna do the job too, but FS outperforms it in both damage and energy generated by a slight margin, so it's the inferior move by far.

Charizard will put out slightly more damage if I'm not mistaken but he's not quite as tough but the difference in durability and offensive output are both very marginal. In the grand scheme of things the iv difference only provides a small difference as well. I would say it's close to being a wash In this situation In regards to performance and you should choose based on which one you like better.

I personally like ff/ft Arcanine simply because it has higher CP/HP so it's much tankier and you can fire off flamethrower often. It gives off consistent damage if you're a dodger like myself!
