Venusaurs and Chanseys and Rhydons had become the greatest gym defender since the CP update?

Not each pokémon can beat Venusaurs with solar beams, even just around 1000 CPs. Chanseys were buffed the most. Rhydons are weak to grass and water, but they have high CPs. They REPLACED Vaporeon.

Chansey will probabely be a good defender, but i am already leveling a good Nidoking as type-Counter to fairy.
[Edit: Chansey is type "normal", so forget my last comment]
Venosaur will be crushed by Fire, Rhydon will be crushed by water, so they are not really great defenders, because the attacker can choose the matchup.

Hi!
I think the Best defenders now are Chansey and Snorlax!

If you multiply Stam x Def, you get for:
Chansey=88.000
Snorlax=60.800
Next is Lapras =260 x 190=49.400.

Can you see the difference! The first two are top notch.

So chansey has most effective health. On the downside, it has an increadible low attack-Stat, so it should not be neccesairy to dodge her attacks. Thus, it gets more damage then a defender with strong attacks who has to be dodged;
Fighting her will be long lasting and boring and not challenging at all. Time-Out should not be a Problem when attacking with a Dragoran [Edit: Dragonite] or Arcanine or Exeggutor or Gyarados or Alakazam, or anybody else with a really high attack-stat.

Chansey will be a leveling-stopper. If put into a gym, it will sit at the bottom and stop each try to level the gym with a group of weeker attackers for 250+ prestige per win.
There she will sit for a while, then the gym will be taken back by another color.

But due to her low CP, she will be at the bottom of a gym and be the first one to be knocked down. She is also a potion consumer (unless you use max potion/max revive).
I have tried and now I will not think of putting a Chansey in a gym until I use all my higher CP pokemons.
May be I will retry later when I can power her up to the maximum to test the time-out possibility - my Chansey is now only at ~1000CP.

Rhydon is a terrible defender because of its double weakness to grass and water. Sure it has high CP so it will sit higher up on a gym, but that shouldn't be considered when ranking Pokémon by their defensive ability.

Chansey is now decent but not top tier.

Venusaur, what? It got nerfed a little, never was a good defender and this update didn't change that.

Rhydon has by no means "replaced" Vaporeon as a defender.

Vaporeon got buffed while its grass counters got nerfed, so it should be stronger than ever.

Rhydon has a double weakness to both water and grass, which is a huge flaw on defense. While it should still be useable as a defender due to massive base stats, it's not better than Vaporeon at all. Vaporeon has fewer and softer counters.
