First ?: Long time reader, first time poster

First, wanted to let you guys know that I really enjoy lurking and reading the posts just as much as the published information. So I think this update is really interesting and I plan on playing quite a bit this summer in some of these gyms. My first question I wanted to throw out is dual-sided.

What now is the best 6 Pokemon gym (or standard can answer both) in terms of difficulty? Also, what are the best/standard 6 counters?

I'll start with this list of my own:
Blissey
Snorlax
Exeggutor
Lapras
Dragonite
Espeon

Standard/Best Answers:
Machamp (Or Poliwrath)
Rhydon (Or Ursaring)
Charizard (Or Flareon)
Lapras (Or Arcanine/Jolteon)
Dragonite (Or Exeggutor)
Tyranitar (or Gengar)

Although you could make arguments for a lot on this list...

I think the new type advantage formulas will make a big difference (or at least I hope so). It's my hope that my C/CC Ursarings can more efficiently take out Blissey.

Other than that, I doubt today Gengar will be a great counter to Psychic types because of his dual poison/ghost type.

And I'm intrigued by attacking Lapras with a FF/WC Arcanine. WC is super effective, resists ice attacks. He's toast if Lapras had water attacks though.

As there is no reliable data yet, one can only assume, what is THE best counter, but I can give you some hot candidates:
Lax/Blis/Lap: Machamp will most likely be one of the fastest against all three.
Alakazam with PC-FB is gonna be another very viable option.
Tyranitar is most likely the best option vs Blisseys with double psy sets and also very good against Snorlax.
Vs Lapras Jolteon, Eggy or Flareon are the hottest candidates here.
Eggy/Espeon: Scizor. And it's not even close. Tyranitar should also be mentioned here.
Dragonite: Dragonite, Lapras, Cloyster, No changes here.

When I made this, I also thought the battles would be similar to the last system. For example: If my Machamp survived vs Blissey, then I could faint/switch out as I then battle the next pokemon in the gym. I still cannot get the update on my phone so I'm not sure that is the case.

I don't think Exeggutor or Dragonite will be top tier defenders due to double weaknesses. I'm hoping I'm wrong kuz I really wanna max one of my confusion eggies.
