Ditto Experience

I 've just caught my second Ditto from a Magikarp. My first Ditto was transformed from a Pidgey. Gamepress reported a Ditto first ever seen was from a Rattata.
Pls share your Ditto experience.

Also, from Gamepress's explaination: "When first entering combat, Ditto will use transform to copy the Pokemon it's fighting. It mirrors the the opposing Pokemon's base stats, quick move, and charge move, while maintaining its current level."

Is it worth buddy a Ditto and power it up to max level?

I think it will be more of a novelty than really useful.

Mine was my second Poke of the day - 379cp Rattatta didn't succumb to three 'great' greatballs which is unusual so I persevered.

How about pushing it to lvl 30 and above? Then the attacker will face a lvl 30 Dragonite or Snorlax when trying to attack the gym.

And considering Ditto's low HP, he will be a potion saver!

Yes he's currently lv26 on 68 hp. Not sure he's worth powering up (60% IVs) - it would cost about 32 candies and 36000 stardust to get to lv30

I caught 2 Dittos one from Rattata, next one from Pidgey (IV 86.7).

My wife got two, one from Zulbat and another one from Magikarp.. Both two fled in front of my face...
We tried put it in gym and trained it, but didn't feel it's strong enough for spending stardust at the time, as it's really depending on what you used against it.

I was out walking with the wife yesterday evening. I caught a Pidgie, but as I was putting my phone away, I noticed there was an extra animation going on ("Huh, WTF is this?") - turns out it was a Ditto! I excitedly told the wife we had to turn around to get her a Ditto too. She was like "Where is it? All I see is a pigeon." To which I replied: "It is the pigeon."
