Should I evolve my shiny

I have a 36% Shiney Gyarados and I didn't think twice about evolving him and Karps are super rare where I live. We don't have much water here at all and nests are rare for them.

Evolve your Gary, power him up and show him off in a gym!

Be smart: 97.8% IV
Be cool: Shiny

Before the rework it was debatable.

Now, totally the shiny. CP isn't very important anymore and hence IV's aren't either. And Gyarados isn't even a good defender anymore either, due to CP no longer being important for gym placement.

So Gyarados is an attacker now. Go get your shiny red Gary!

At 29CP, the shiny is probably lvl 1, no more than lvl 2. It will take another 122 candy to get it to lvl 30. Whereas, the 97 IV at 188CP is either lvl 29 or 30 already. Leave the shiny alone, and evolve the one that can be useful.

My best one so far is a 56% which I evolved .....this one below might get evolved and kept as a level 3 trophy....I have plenty of spare candy though
