Still not pulling the trigger?

How many are still not pulling the trigger on evolves and power ups?
It appears that a lot has been exposed about the new gym structure and what we can expect, but there are still quite a few unknowns. I have always been the type to "play for today", but I did stop doing evolves and power ups about 4 weeks ago waiting to see the impact of the new gym scene.
With all my mons now returned (and I have quite a few that can be powered up) I see that some of my notes from before may no longer apply, and other mons may be of a higher priority. I think I'm going to continue to wait until I see the fallout of the gym changes in application.

Honestly any moves could become legacy at any time, and old legacy moves can get stronger or weaker. No real reason to wait for evolves.

DEFINITELY wait for power-ups though! Unless its your favorite Pokemon and you will power it up regardless.

Evolves take candy that may be better used for power ups on other of the same mon.......... especially if someone is candy limited on rare mon.

If you chose to wait this long...then a little longer is going to do no harm - alternatively, if you pull the trigger now, then it completely defeats the purpose of waiting for the last 4 weeks.

Definitely wait...Play for today doesn't mean literally "today" to me...

Gym update will be out there "soon" so in possibly a week or less, (my guess is less since they seem to be making a LOT of changes), we will soon know what will happen...esp since a lot of high (my guess is level 40) level players are hardcore and will post/vlog about the changes...

I doubt I'd be included in the beta (36+) and don't mind...Maybe 38+ can get the benefit.

Wait a few weeks, at least until raids begin to see what is good to power up or not.

These are two questions in one.

(1) Power ups
I am waiting until gym mechanics are revealed completely. I already have 200.000 dust, more than ever. :-)

(2) Evolves
Assuming, with the machines actual moves can be rolled but not the legacy ones, it would make sense to evolve everything that can evolve good moves -
now, they could become legacy at any time.

I completely agree with the second part of this answer. I agree with the first also but that is straightforward. Now that we can reroll, get the moves that exist now.

I blew most of my stardust maxing out returning defenders. With me being at level 37 and taking them this far, may as well max them.

And I powered up a Hypno. Well-rounded stats should serve him well in any gym structure and that combination of confusion/psyshock should be really annoying. No regrets! I have wanted to power one of these guys up for a very long time.

I'm waiting. I do get a lot of info from this site and definitely use their Gym defender and attacking tier list as a guide when making decisions... but it is just that... a guide.

I do a TON of gym battles. It is all I do. I gather significant info from my personal battles and give that more weight than this tier list. I also look at what my current gym meta looks like as our biome is quite unquie (tons of rock - Rhydons and Tyranitars in every gym).

So here is an example where I differ from game press Tier list.

My top attackers include Aquatail Vapes. I would take them 100% over Hydro pump Vapes. Why? AT allows me to dodge every Rhydon attack. Hydro pump opens you up to getting hit. I can bring a 3000CP AT Vape to a gym party and cruise through tons of Rhydons and Tyranitars so I put heavy weight on that.

So I will wait before powering anything up (defenders or attackers) to see what makes sense with the new meta.
