STAB & SE * NVE has changed

You can see in GamePress's latest update (https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/news/type-effectiveness-updated)

And this is gonna change A LOT.
Type advantage will finally be a thing. We are gonna see a greater variety of Pokemon being usable, especially those with weird types combo.

What else do you guys think will happen?

Steelix on defense is a big winner here. Was already solid, but CP limited. Now resistances are up and CP doesn't impact order.

Also gives a slight boost to ZH or DG blissey, since they can counter machamp/heracross better than STAB now.

This does hurt generalists slightly, such as alakazam.

Not to mention other couinters with SE/stab and resist (I am looking at you Vape) will function even better than before.

Steelix is maybe my favorite current mon but I am lost on why folks are desperate to live in an alternate universe where his current defensive function is much better than anything else. It just isn't and I wish that weren't so.

Vaporeon says hello to Steelix,

Machamp & Heracross take more damage from Blissey...they DEAL more damage too!

Right, but double fighting Machamp will do more damage equally to ALL blissey. A ZH/DG Blissey will now do 17% more damage to machamp while a P/HB Blissey will do 4% less. The gap between those moveset increased by roughly 20%.

And yes, steelix has weaknesses. So does every pokemon currently in the game. He does have a lot of resistances, which are helpful. I'm not saying he is now the best defender, but, if we were to redo the pareto frontiers assessment from this site, given these changes, he is probably now on par with the old tier with rhydon in terms of how long it takes a vaporeon to kill it.

Let's see, my Alakazam with Focus Blast now deals 25% more damage to Snorlax and Blissey. Psycho Cut deals 4% less damage, but retains its stellar energy output.

And Ali takes 17% less damage from Zen Headbut and 4% less from Pound. Lick does more damage to him, but probably still sucks on defense.

Together with the (probable) new 6 vs. 6 setup of the gym fights this is certain to start the age of the specialists.

I don't think it changes much about the function of gameplay. It will make generalist attackers a little less desirable while specialists with both stab and SE will destroy their defenders since you get to choose what you attack with. I cannot see how this helps any defender with a decent counter out there. Which is fine. You are rewarded for having strong direct counters.

Weird types combo is intriguing. I have a Ninetails with Solar Beam, which now deals super high damage to Water, Ground, and Rock. This is probably not enough to make her a good defender. But Typhlosion also can get Solar Beam and has much higher base stats,

does this mean that Android version of the app is available, if not in play store, at least on back channels?
