Caught #4 & 5 today before a lucky egg. Cried a little.

By the way. Some of you may remember I say wear all the orange you can with the hat. Yesterday I realized one pair of male socks have an orange stripe. So I put em on. Probably just a coincidence.

I may transition in game (MtF) to see if there's any orange girl clothes. Ill let you how that goes.

I really like the shinys, for they are tempting rivals to dump candy and dust in suboptimal pokemon. :-)

If i want to win with style, i use my tangela. No other pokemon has a more sympathetic hair dressing.

The only plausible theory i have heard of is, that you should catch magicarp in series, with no other species inbetween. According to this theory, this raises the propability for catching a shiny karp.

Nope. I caught a bunch of other stuff in between the two and this time I didn't hit them back to back.

My first one was in a cluster of two. Interestingly enough the first one gave me my silver medal. The mon before that gave me a message saying my storage was full so I dropped two other things immediately before catching those two.

That was the only example. I remember the rest being single spawns.

I put the hat on way back in Waterfest. There was a serious clash so I put on the orange basic male hoodie. The gray shoes with the orange tongue. The orange gloves. And most recently the orange stripe sock.

To hunt the Magikarp you must be one with the Magikarp. Really though Its the only way to make the hat fashionable. I seriously doubt this makes a big difference. That being said I know at least one person who's had the hat on this whole time wearing other colors and no karp.

I like to think that Niantic is simply rewarding the dedicated. Back in Waterfest and This most current one I've logged a minimum of 10 kilometers every day. I wasn't as serious in adventure week or egg fest, despite playing daily. That being said #2 and #3 were simply random at a kind of distant beach. I was however cosplaying the karp!

I have zero. None, squat, zilch.

Seems every very trainer have different RNG. Some are lucky with picking up 10K eggs like me, other are lucky with perfect movesets when evolving, and some with encountering shinies in the wild like you.

But none the less, you have great shiny RNG.

I caught 5, all terrible IVs, evolved the highest cp one into a gary. Got b/HP so at least it is useful.

All 3 were caught during the water event, one in a supermarket parking lot and two at the local park. Have seen many more karp since then, none shiny

But maybe the spawn rate is increasing again, since you just caught more... I think I'll head to the park (like I need another excuse for that)!
