Keeping Intermediate Stages

I've always been more of a collector than average, so I am trying to get a feel for more players. For three stage pokemon, do you keep one of the intermediate stage? I mean keep for no reason other than to have one of the species. I don't intentionally evolve one to a middle stage and leave it, but I keep a wild charmeleon or kababra that I've caught.

Do you keep them? Transfer right away?

Not really for no reason because I'm hoping for a double-candy event with the re-work, at which time I look forward to really cleaning house! Otherwise I only keep if good MS for prestiging, or if high level/great IV and might use in future

I would if the mid stage was usable and the final stage was a more difficult or prestigious thing to achieve. I for one really like Haunter and if I recall correctly Gengar is more of a challenge to get in the main series.

Ivysaur with SB, for example, has been a wonderful mon to use for prestige.
I have a lot of the intermediate stage mons for prestige battle.

Agreed. I haven't evolved any bulbasaurs with the intention of keeping ivysaurs, but I've kept all the good ones I've caught in the wild. Very good prestigers.

But to answer OP, yes I like the collector aspect of the game too, and like to keep one of each species. Although I don't usually keep any middle Nido's, Bayleefs, and have never seen a pupitar in the wild. Also don't hold any pigeottos.

Sometimes, for prestiging. Move set is key. It must either have the optimal move set overall, or the optimal set for a specific, common matchup. I also vowed never to evolve a PC Kadabra again after doing so and getting a Con/DG Alakazam.

I like to have at least one of everything, so yes, I keep at least one of the intermediate stages, and possibly more if they are useful for prestiging.

Yes, I keep one specimen of every mon, with no other reason than collecting
