Event nerfed?!

The first 2 days were super good.Event pokemons were spawning everywhere. Now its like there is no event. I barely see fire/ice pokemons in same place i was farming last 3 days.
WHY THE FCUK would you do an event , give super good spawns and nerf it after few days.
Whats wrong with niantic...

Any of you guys see same pattern? I m %99.99 sure they nerfed it cuz i have been farming +500 pokemons per day because ice/fire are so rare.

Lets hear you guys too!

No nerf where I’m at. Having some bad luck? Maybe you did something to trigger that anti-spoofer function that prevents you from see good mons? Tried waiting a while with the app off?

It's been the same the whole time for me. Every normal spawn area has had some fire/ice in it. Every singlular spawn spot as been fire/ice accept one. But i did see a slugma, so... NERF

The same for me during the hole event until today, not seeing anything rare, mostly Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta,Swinub and Shellder, but they are all over the place since the first day.

Only have seen one Sneasel and one Lapras, but rares almost never spawn here anyways so there is that.

No neef here - still tons of starters and houndours. Even caught a 2100 CP Typhlosion this morning.

If anything I've seen an uptick of fire/ice and rares.

I've still NEVER seen a wild Lapras, playing since 7/21/16, but I did catch a Flareon 80IV, cp1850 on the sidewalk in front of my house last night. Caught a low level Piloswine and Typhlosion this morning. Otherwise, lots of fire types, Vulpix, Ponyta, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour, Charmander which are rare here. I'm seeing very few true ice types, other than Swinub, but I'm only 15 away from the elusive gold Skier badge.

I think y'all are expecting too much from events. "Increase in spawns" means exactly that, an increase. Same with the rock event, tyranitar family. These things don't spawn in a normal situation, but more common fire/ice do, so of course you will see the more common-rare fire and ice mons, and not so much the super rare Lapras. Were you expecting the event to rain down Lapras, a truly rare pokemon that took me a year to get?

An increase means to multiply by a percentage. Lets say you have a 1 in 1,000,000 (0.000001%) chance of a lapras spawning in the wild. Niantic increases the spawn rate by 10, even 100. You still dont have but a 0.00001%, or 0.0001%, chance of a spawn. If something like a growlith has a .01% to spawn, it now has a .1%, or 1%.
Not saying it is done like this, or that those numbers are even close to what they are, i can assure you that Niantic is not going to just hand you something that others have waited so long to get

Unless you were in Japan for the Lapras event, then yes, it was raining down for everyone there...I think some vid (Trainer Tips) showed someone catch over a thousand...(they showed him their Pokedex of how many caught)...

There was a Snorlax event too...in Japan.

But those are completely different circumstances and exceptions. It would be really over the top and absurd if the events where like that.

Im sure that's a different story there, A lapras event means more lapras. Fire/ice event doesn't mean more Lapras, but an increase in spawning of fire/ice. There is a difference in "increasing your chances of winning the lottery" and "a guaranteed winning ticket."

Those events requested by goverment of japan so dont hate niantic for it. Go ask your goverment to request an event in your city :)

i m not expecting anything from the event. i compare first day or two to today.
I didnt say i want them to spawn lapras every corner. Seeing 1-2 lapras in a week is lucky enuf IMO

Since I referenced Lapras, allow me to clarify. I actually have 7 Lapras, all hatched. I expected nothing from the event; I was simply pointing out that I've never seen one in the wild, ice event or not. We simply do not get ice types in this biome, so 100x increased spawn rate of zero remains zero. I'm thrilled to finally have a chance to get the ice medal, even if it means catching 150 Swinub. All my previous ice catches were hatched. This is water/grass country. Similar to the rock event, when the rarest I saw was one Larvitar and one Aerodactyl. I think of the events as a bonus, not a guarantee; loving all the extra XP!
