Was just thinking, How long do you spend taking down a level 10 gym? i saw someone on another say 55 minutes. i sometimes can spend over an hour. The way the battle system works was because it is pokemon go and it was suppose to be relatively fast and on the go. But for gyms you must remain stationary for a certain amount of time, why not introduce the original way of battling? the tapping and swiping and pushing are not going to work in PvP, you will not be circling a target that way. People are talking about buffs/nerfs in the rework, i think this will be way bigger. Just a thought.

Gym play is a time suck. At least I'm moving about when catching mons.
The catch-escape-repeat is also a time suck but when that happens I can run away and keep moving.

It takes me about an hour with the constant restarts and the Blissey in gyms.

I think a lot of people are already pretty bored with the whole gym thing so I think a lot of people will be disappointed with this gym rework as really nothing new.

The only people who do gyms a lot are people who want to get 10+ gyms so they try to convert an area.

I usually get 8-10 gyms daily, but honestly, the only people who attack/do gyms regularly are all the hardcore people now...

Casuals don't bother wasting their time since it's very unrewarding (or if was depending on this gym rework ends up being).

What's sad IMO is my area, I'm pretty much the ONLY person who constantly tears down the rival tower. It's constantly rebuilt since they own the area further away, but I keep the gyms that I use for my daily gyms from ever being built up so it's a constant build up, I tear down, repeat.

I've said before it's honestly like work, but since I like free Pokecoins and dust (I'm completely free 2 play), I spend time daily to keep my local gyms low.

All the other gym people seems to have given up since again, 10 cents is pretty useless for the time required, even some of the "old" regulars that used to do daily gym/coin runs seems to be gone from gyms.

The coins do add up though since I've maxed out all storage and am sitting on 8k+ coins.

Doubt the rework will make it that easy to get moving forward.

I have a feeling the majority of the gyms are full of spoofers using bots. They can stay at home and have bots to do the dirty work, to tear down and bubble strat up. Then once the gym is at 50,000 they sign into their multiple accounts and drop in.

So sad that so many spoofer are bad at math, they could just prestige the gym up to 34,000 to drop in their 9 additional mons, but then again who said that spoofers were smart.

I just don't have that kind of time. I think unfortunatley the Gyms need to be ripped down and completely rebuilt. Like the battle system, completely altered. Go into a battle sequence(back to 4 moves or find a way to make it work with the 2 moves) and send a push notification to the people occupying the gym giving them a chance to battle or differ to computer defense.

People like being rewarded...even simple stuff like gold star stickers...I think people would be far more into the gyms if they simply kept track of battle stats on individual pokemon. Something like the "battles won" but that actually works and has a realistic chance of adding up.

Give something like a stat that shows how many pokemon you have defeated with a certain pokemon, right down where it shows the buddy distance. Do something like a ribbon at 100, 500, and 1000 pokemon defeated. Maybe make the ribbons visible if a pokemon is in a gym. I think this would go a long way in motivating people to battle, and to battle with different pokemon. I know I would try and get my team of 6 to 1000 battles each.

Keep it simple, people are easily entertained, and all I am looking for in PoGo is something simple. If I want a challenge, I will competitive battle on Sun and Moon.

I've only taken down a full level 10 once since they never get built up that high where I live. It had 2 blissey and took about 30-40 minutes

it's what i find about 30-40 minutes as long as their are only a couple of blisseys and snorlax.

I've taken down 30-40 level 10 gyms. It takes me 30-45 minutes, depending what's in the gym. If there's a bunch of garys, flareons, rhydons, etc, who take seconds to defeat with Jolteons and Vaporeons, it takes 30 minutes. Even vapes are reasonably easy. It's only blisseys that really increase the time element. It's the easy matchups that determine the time needed. I'd like to see 1) being able to switch teams (but only once), 2) only two of any pokemon in a gym, and 3) some kind of time limit anyone can be in a specific gym.

1 - sounds good
2 - release legendaries and make it 1
3 - a week seems appropriate if you ask me

It usually takes me around 45-50 minutes. Multiple Blisseys add a little time, but not much. The time spent healing and picking my team again every time through is what really determines the overall duration.
