Niantic troll Lapras update

So, earlier this week I posted about hatching my first Lapras a day before the event, and completing my gen1 pokedex. The troll part was hatching something almost a year of going without, right before an event that would possibly give it to me, and giving it water gun.
I believe Niantic knew they did me wrong, and made up for it by spawning this lady at my job:

I caught one this morning too! Funnily enough, in the parking lot of a gas station. I literally jog around a lake every morning, but she was waiting for me in a gas station!

Great one too... I only caught one during the Water festival and she was very low cp/iv. Double Ice move for the win.

In my train/bicycling experience there is unfortunately rarely spawns at train stations, hence no Lapras and Snorlax for me. You've got some advantages it seems :)

I once found a Blastoise at a parking lot. There is something about those places.

Even though I leave my app open all day, I have yet to see one on nearby during this or the earlier water event...

Still seems extremely rare and wife still doesn't have one since playing since July...(I've hatched 4).

Yeah, i didn't have one until Monday, been playing since late July.

For me the only ice mon that has noticable increased spawns is Swinub. Sneasel continues extremely rare, only 1 caught, the same as Lapras, only one. And I have been playing a lot of hours those days...I don't know what is the point of those events if the rares remain that rare.

They should make those rare spawns more common those days on small areas too, I won't complain too much because one is more than nothing, but still seems pretty much nothing considering that Lapras is not even one of the tops at this point, why make his candies that rare? Even with one per day during the week and using Pinaps I would only get something like 21 candies? When I need around 300 to max him out, it is crazy after a year of the game that some gen1 mon are that rare even during events for them.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was expecting Sneasle to be hella rare but I've ground over 100 candies already! Much to my surprise Magmar and Lapras are the rare ones. ice pony got one of each. Lapras wasn't really much of a surprise, but Magmar sure is.

I am literally swimming on a sea of Ponyta, Swinub and Shellder. Love the last two ones but was really hoping for more Sneasel and some Lapras, before this event I had 3 Sneasel candy, I am at 15 and because I am using pinaps on them.

Are you in the South East USA? Just wondering, because that is exactly what SC is getting, with vulpix added to the mix

I still have only seen Swineub as far as ice types during the event.

That sucks, maybe go to a city area near you over the weekend. I've definitely seen more fire 5:1, but the inner cities have everything.

Where do you live? I'm in Austin (suburbs) and we've had everything except jynx.

Live outside of Columbia SC, work down town. Main street is always active. At least 40 pokestops leading to the state house (which has 15 on it's property).
