What level are you? I've caught everything, except 1 or 2. And some I've just lobbed a regular pokeball at, because i didn't care about that specific mon

I'm getting good catch rates but I'm sometimes using razz on higher cp mons and pinap on the lower cp mons.
I also happen to have the golds for ice and fire, if that actually makes any difference.

I've used pinap on almost everything, high or low, and catching... saved up 113 for this event, so if they pop out once or twice, it's not the end of the world. When it's done, don't know when I'll see any of these things again

I use a pinap on every dratini and abra, also an ultra ball.
I concentrate and try to throw at least a "great".

Are you using berries? Are you getting nice, great or excellent throws? If you are just throwing a regular pokeball at a Swinub, Cyndaquil or Charmander, or some of these other tough to catch pokemon, these might be a few reasons why you have a very high flee rate.

That would suck. I haven't had a problem however I am Level 36 and have every type gold medal except Fighting,Steel, and Dragon. My fiancée is level 30 (today) but didn't start until March has less medal bonuses and she has used a lot more poke balls.

This is true. The medal bonuses make a good difference.

Really? I find that things are constantly breaking out my balls. It seems that this never happened when I was acquiring then. Even the lower level and common mons break out like nobodies business. I'm bit sold on this medal business. And its a straight slap in the face when green circle mons break out of your great and excellent throws, which happens waaaayyy to often in my reality.

I think the medals do mean something now. I don't have gold for ice and having trouble pinap-ing anything over 100 cp...even with great and curve ball. No problem with fire but charmander is always more difficult so I up to great or ultra for anything 300+.

Red ball
Raspberry blue ball
Razbery blue ball
Razberry yellow ball
Then red ball (this one sounds crazy, but it worked many times after many high level balls, a red ball did the kill! Hope anybody noticed this and explain it!)
And combined with left spin, straight, left spin!
Anyway, houndour, growlith using red ball ok. Starters normally need berry and high level ballls.
Just caught a Lapras with pineberry since it is only cp34.

If I want it I usually go razzberry then yellow ball.

If that fails I do it again.

And that pretty much never fails.

If I use razz, yellow ball, and excellent throw, and he/she breaks out, then it's red ball till either a) catch b) runs away
Lol

Well, it's surprising to hear. During every event that took place so far I found mons easier to catch. Especially the starters. I normally don't even bother with the berries during the event, since I don't need to use them even on high level charmanders etc... Probably just RNG, keep going.

Yup, very high flee rate and that includes the common mons of less than 150 CP.

But I am happy. I got my first Sneasel, Feint Attack/Avalanche, a wonder, 1546 CP L30, in just two throws, already a Cyndaquil wonder L26, an above average Cyndaquil 627 CP, L30 in just two Excellent throws with ultra balls. And even a Grimer and a weak Vaporeon in the wild.

Now a 83 CP Caterpie breaking out 4 times and fleeing on the 5th!!
