Lucky egg + catching mons = worth it?

Lucky eggs typically worth ~80k XP with an evolve session. How much are they worth during this event just walking around and catching everything you see?

Oh, yes! I just leveled up to 35 just by catching and lucky egg, up to 1,200 XP per catch!

Yes. I had 3 catches just now and got almost 2000 xp, with a lucky egg it would've been 4000 xp. So if you're in an area that has pokemon, it's definitely worth it. And if you want you can fill in the time between catches to do evolving too.

Exactly. Go to a highly populated area for mons and go wild. Then evolve in between. Can get 1200+ exp per catch with an egg on (Great Throw - 150, First Throw - 150 , Curveball -30, catch - 300 = 630exp x 2 (egg) = 1260exp per catch).

Even a Go+ catch should net +900XP with a lucky egg. This is 2x(300 (Catch) + 150 (First Throw)). Does one get 150 if it runs away? Or just the usual 50?

I just tested it. You only get 50 for a "run away". But you do get 900 for a Go+ catch!

Isn't it just 25 xp (the normal flee "bonus") x 3, or does Go+ award more for a runaway?

Yes, triple XP for catching Pokémon, it is definitely worth it.

(1)
Walk = 5x(hatch eggs) +3×(catch pokemon) + (evolving in between)

(2)
Luckyegg(Walk)= 10x(hatch eggs) + 6×(catch pokemon) + 2x(evolving in between)

(2) = Worth It

I'm tempted, but need to be playing for 30 minutes and need a lot of spawns...Sitting and grinding at 4 stops with lures could get a lot of EXP probably...

Also, I think there will be other events later in the month or in July as well so you may want to save 10km eggs if you value double/triple candies! when it's the actual anniversary date of when Pokemon Go Launched...(Was this July 5th, 2016?)

The announcement did say there will be other events, unless they mean the live event in July:
http://pokemongolive.com/en/post/anniversary2017

"Over the next few months, we’re hosting real-world and in-game events planned alongside some very exciting new features that will get you outside exploring the world with family and friends. Get ready for an action-packed couple of months!"

Couple usually means 2 so June and July?

Try it, you'll be amazed how the XP adds up... Lures, incense and evolutions just add to the fun.

I think the anniversary is July 6 in the U.S. (I'm ashamed to admit I thought all these people playing were crazy. My account was started by my daughter on July 26, she didn't have her own phone yet. I took it over on Oct 30, it was only level 3. Now I'm the craziest in the whole family, LOL.)

My daughter who introduced me to the game quit many months ago, around level 20 as I recall - I'm the family crazy too!

Mathematically not worth it since you can evolve way more mons in 30' then you can catch in the same time, and the catch bonuses (guestimate average 600 xp if you're really good/lucky) is only slightly more then the evolve bonus of 500.
I did an experiment last week and counted all pkm caught in 30' was about 32 at my favorite park - but I did have some down time with nothing on screen. So assume you could catch 50 with a really good spawn area, that would still only be an extra ~30K XP. However an extra 5X for eggs in incubators is tempting..

I'll probably do it because it's more fun walking and catching then doing a hard-core evolution session (esp if multiple devices), but only if I can time up a bunch of eggs hatching too.

Mass evolves are not sustainable in the way you imply, because they do not exist independently. You still have to catch it somewhere.

Also, your math is off because it should not be hard or uncommon to get 1260 per catch during this event, and that is not even the max possible for a single catch.

Started and ended the day with 999/1000 in my storage, but I grinded around 375k XP from the time the event started until now. I did not play nonstop for those ~10 hours.

The question I was addressing is the relative value of using Lucky Egg - if you want to maximize the XP, better to catch with event, or use for mass evolve session.
I stand by my math, mass evolve = guaranteed 1000 per PKM x as many as you can do.
Catching with event = 480-630 x 2 (ignoring excellent bonus), I think my assumed average of 600/catch is quite generous over a 30' time frame, you're not going to hit every 1st throw nor get a great curve with every throw. Even at that, the lucky egg/mass evolve still comes out ahead.
However, as I also acknowledged, it's more fun to walk/catch, and as you point out candy and fodder is needed for evolution anyways, may as well double the XP with the Lucky Egg sale.
