Who needs TMs when you could eat shrooms?

Niantic very cleverly reimagined the semi-useless item that was Stardust. In the main series when you got it there was nothing to celebrate. Obviously in PoGo its one of the most valued resources. Lets apply that same logic to move rerolls

TinyMushroom & BigMushroom

Fans of the main series may recall the item but struggle to know its purpose. In Fr/Lg it acted as heart scales to the move rememberer. In the other games it was the same thing as stardust: junk to be sold.

Rather than coding dozens of TMs, the development team could simply introduce two new items that allow the reroll of quick or charge move. Some mons may be better candidates than others (when only one other move is available) and some simply wouldn't work at all (I'm looking at your water gun vaporeon).

Something like this should be very difficult to get. Maybe transferring X paras(ect)s at a time or something. If they were easy to get it should also cost candy. If it were more difficult, maybe the candy could be overlooked.

I like to think of this as a fresh and original concept, your thoughts?

The last time I ate shrooms, I learned all kinds of new moves. Sadly, I retained none of them...

I like it. Just dont think that it should be aquired by some sort of grind specially regarding a specific mon. People will just choose the shorter grind most of the time (unless they have like only one good lvl/iv of that species) also in the example u presented grass biomes would get a big advantage over other biomes too. Maybe it should be an ultra rare item because that way u have the old grindy way of evolving your pokemon again and u would have a new rng way that would be rare enough to make u think twice before using it

Fair point on the biome stuff. Either way I don't think it should be a guaranteed 7th day stop. Ideally objectives would be introduced and you could draw one of each every 3 to 4 weeks. There are a myriad of shitty items from the main series that could have fun alternate effects in Go!

I actually think it's the best method for move rerolling I've heard. They would definitely have to be hard to come by, maybe as really rare drops from pokestops or bought with poke coins. But ots a great idea and hopefully niantic implements something like this in the future, I've got some dragonites that need rerolling

Really rare spins okay. I'm not sold on buying with coins though. Perhaps an original way to draw would be best.

A really rare item to have a crap shoot at a moveset (even if only quick or charge move)? You mean like a metal coat, in which I have been able to get 5 and still don't have a Scizor with double bug moves? May as well just wait to evolve another, whatever it is...

I feel like all it would lead to is a ton of post that go something like...5 shrooms and hyper beam on Dragonite every time!!!!

Technical Machines are items that teach a mon a move. In the first four generations these were one time use consumables. At gen 5 they became unlimited. Its my opinion that TMs are not the way to go for rerolling Moves, should that feature ever come available.

This could work, even on the grass biome i don't see to many paras, at least it would make catching some pokemon fun again or excited again seeing parasect in nearby
