Which would you rather have?
A Shiny Gyarados?
A 100% Dragonite?
A 100% Ditto?
A Unknown?
Prentend that the IVs and movesets are the best for all of the above.

Already have a maxed out Shiny Gyarados so if breeding will come I would choose the 100%IV Ditto, if not the 100% Dragonite.
Unown is just a hype creation from Niantic, we will have unown events for sure, it has zero purpose a part from the dex entry and the medal. They made it that rare to make seem gen2 pokédex can't be completed and earn some time while players that don't know the spawn rate of that thing keep searching for it like crazy in order to get that dex entry.
Probably in this order.
1.Ditto
2.Unknown
3.Gyarados
4.Dragonite
And I only have Dragonite at last because he would just barely be better than my current one 97% so not worth the waist of choice. Also ditto for hopefully Breeding and Fun battles. Unknown because of how rare he is. And the gary because my shiny karp only has 69% ivs but 129 cp so he will be evolved anyways

In the main series the mother passes species and the father passes moves. Ditto allows the father to pass down species and moves. It can be bred with the mother too, they just won't get egg moves.
Through the use of hold items it is possible to pass down IVs and Natures. I don't believe there is a way to pass down Shiny status however. In old games it was determined by IVs. Recently its a separate value.
