Hi,
Feraligatr wouldn't be a good defender with charge move "Ice Beam" ? Feraligatr counters(Dragonite, Exeggutor, Venusaur) will be weak for this move.

In my opinion... Not really a good counters vs the three you have mentioned because they all resist a Feraligatr's quick moves (water)... Venusaur and Exeggutor grass moves melts Fera and so with the damage of a Nite... Maybe can counters vs Rhydon or a Golem...

Fraligator is not a good defender regardless Icebeam or no icebeam

WG and bite have low damage output on defense AND gain energy slower relative to the majority of quick moves available in Go.

Yes, ice beam does SE damage, but it's lack of STAB still hinders it. It's not the same as lapras/cloyster/doodoogong using a STAB SE ice beam.
It may throw an attacker off, but only for the first time. I would be more concerned with a frequent and hard hitting crunch

In a post i wrote earlier, i stated Att stats outweigh STAB in certain cases. In this case, Gatr ice beam = Lapras ice beam. Even without STAB, Gatr's attack stats (205) makes up the difference to Lapras (165) w/STAB. True dps = 29 (both)

Maybe, after the gym rework, and Bite and WG are both poor moves on defense.
