Power up an Golem ?

Just need the suggestion if it make sense to power up an 93% IV Golem with Mud Slap/Ancient Power or is it a waste of resources ála stardust ?

The Moveset like nearly all are rated (A) for defense but I never saw one local here in a Gym, is the moveset maybe also usefull to attack another mon ?

It's rated A for defense just because it's the best moveset for golem on defense, not because it's great on defense overall.

It's actually pretty awful on defense only because its DOUBLE weak to grass AND water. Golem isn't too bad on offense, but probably not with that moveset.

Vaperons eat them alive... It's got reasonable max cp so you can place it reasonably high, but it won't deter serious attackers.

As an attacker it's useful against electrics and poisons...

QFT on redeye.

What level are you? How much Stardust do you have? Are you planning on leveling up your mons past 30? If you are save every single piece of Stardust. I "wasted" Stardust on so many mid-level and "fun" mons that I never have more than 10k now trying to level past 30.

Thanks redeyejedi, Faversham71 and Ey3con...

double weakness against grass/water s*cks, as you see them (at least here rather small town with not that many gyms) everywhere - vaporeon, flareon etc. beside few lapras, snorlax not really much variety and as you told me the golem is sadly none alternative

I'm on LVL26 so stardust goes to lapras, snorlax and exeggutor and will be saved for futher mon. Maybe you'll laughing - today I catched my 1st wild dratini (already hatched 2 from eggs) so I'll see to obtain a reasonable dragonite one day (^^)

No problem. I love seeing/putting variety in gyms. Pokes with double weaknesses are a let down when they get defensive moveset.

If you want some variety tentacruel, Nido, and clefable are all pretty good defenders with no chance of getting a real bad moveset that I can think of.

Good luck with dragonite!

Golem has a Niche in attacking gyms and i use him well in certain situations but i would never put one in a gym, even with a great defensive moveset. with that said i wouldn't power it up. I don't get rid of high IV pokemon because honestly I don't trust everything is going to stay the same, things could get re balanced.
