Trust me, I totally understand why some would like this event (I mean, how could you not like increased larvitar?), but I don't like this event for 1 reason. That is, why would they do an event for gen 2's sudo-legendary after they've only been in the game for a few months before doing gen 1's which has been out for over 10 months? Many players in my biome (non-water) have still NEVER caught a wild dratini. I feel that increased rhyhorn would have MORE than made up for increased magikarp during the water event because it's 50 vs 400 candies (1/8th the cost) and rhydon has slightly higher cp. Plus golem to boot, which is higher cp than the 2nd highest cp during the water event (from what I recall). I personally had to wait over 7 months to gain enough candies to evolve my first dragonite, and I'm very active, or at least was then, so that's a long long time (I'm lvl 38, could be higher but have slowed down the last month or so, and also used up all my lucky eggs) and would read on here all the time about players in other biomes evolving handfuls of dragonites. But was patient because I knew we'd get our "turn" in gen 2 w/ tyranitar. But no, this event happened shortly (compared to almost a year of gen 1, mind you) after just a few months of gen 2, like they didn't want to make anyone wait as long for Tyra as many here are still waiting for dnites. We didn't even get the "dratini glitch" from the first hour of the water event. And I know that because I was grinding during that event from the start (water mons are rare here) and didn't catch one the entire event, yet alone that "first hour".
*Sorry for the rant, just feel we've been "skipped" here and that they don't really care about the players in our biome.. And it's not some small town, it's a big city. Meh, annoying... I'm not trying to "rain on anyone's parade", just needed to get that off my chest. May even post about it...
Well, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say I don't want others to get larvitar/tyranitar (I'm not an ill-wisher), I just wish they would've done this AFTER an event with dratini/dragonite, since they came way after them and we've been waiting so long still. Not a "misery loves company" type of guy, just a venter... I do appreciate what you're trying to do/say though! Good intentions
Thanks for your understanding man. Feels sort of like a slap in the face for all the patience we had during the whole first generation and counting. As if rhydon, golem and even the ultra rare aerodactyl wasn't cool and generous enough. After all, rock/ground typing is not as strong as water anyway. But, what can I do besides vent about it?
