The "big 19" basic explanation – Vaporeon (week: 7-2) – Still useful (against Blissey) in some ways

Vaporeon week: https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/q-a/big-19-basic-explanation-vaporeon-week-7-1-solid-attackerdefender

Vaporeon is still useful, but far from perfect, when against Blissey.

The Battle Odds: GO's analysis states that Vaporeon has an about 27% chance to win against a similar level and IV Pound/Psychic Blissey, and has about 3% against a ZH/DG one. Compared to Machamp, which beats Blisseys faster, has only 17% chance against a Pound/Psychic one, and even 2% against a ZH/DG one.

However, a single level 30 Machamp is able to beat a Pound/Psychic Blissey in time, with a 4% chance to win, it can't beat a ZH/DG one. While Vaporeon isn't able to beat any of the Blisseys.

Assuming the Machamp has Counter/DP and the Vaporeon has WG/HP as their movesets.

Next post, is still Vaporeon!

Still useful? wtf. Vaporeon made most of water types obsolete and you call Vaporeon still useful? Why... I mean why would you use Vaporeon against a Blissey though?

Vaporeon is too slow to use reliably against Blissey. You don't even need to say anything more. That should just be a footnote in another blogpost about what Vaporeon is actually good for.

A C/DP Machamp can't beat a same level ZH/DG Blissey?

Vaporeon should really only be pulled in for the Tyranitar and Rhydon matchups. Here is where vape truly shines and I think she is the most powerful (speed to health ratio) matchup in both of these.

Of course, Vaporeon is also great against the fires, but I think Rhydon may actually have a bigger advantage here (worse moves better stats).

Against Blissey, Vaporeon is not so good simply because it is borderline offensive capability against a neutral matchup...a 205 Attack with water gun/hydro pump is not going to win many fights. Still works against snorlax due to snorlax's much lessened bulk compared to Blissey, but still a chore.
