Steelix question

So I have one Steelix, 72% but with IT/HS. He is level 26 currently. Do I use the event and one of my extra metal coat to try to evolve a higher IV and level one or am I insane because I have a great moveset and the odds I would get a second with double steel moves is so low.

Wait until the event is over and reassess if you have a worthy candidate and/or enough candy to be able to take the risk.

Might be worth waiting for the gym re-work as well. Steelix should by rights be a strong defender (except against fire) and that could affect your decision if CP is re-worked or even abolished.

Wait until the end of the event. I'd go for one with better IV then. IT and DT are equally good on defense, it shouldn't be too hard to get a good moveset out of steelix

It's hard to give any firm advice on him except to wait. Without knowing what the new system may be we have no idea if or how CP may be calculated or what role those IVs may play at all.

If you wanted to evolve one, had plenty of candy, and had a very special candidate I would say sure. If you wanted to power one up though I would advise waiting no matter what you got until we know more.

Wait! I got impatient and evolved 2nd steelix and got DT/C iv 88.9. Should have stuck with my IT/HS 68.9iv, now I've wasted 50 candies. Name of the game.
