250ish dollars in store
750 for new phone(probably needed it anyway)

Nothing except about 40 dollars gas money a month driving around to gyms.
Level 34.

Maybe ig coins.
There is no need for much lucky eggs. I (34) once bought 25 lucky eggs and I have still 5 left.

Okay see now this makes ZERO sense. How this guy can be at the same level as me is bewildering.

I have spent over a thousand bucks on incubators, hatched thousands of eggs, constantly have 10 gyms, and still catch more than a "casual" player.

This depends where you live, PG is geographically unfair. I live in Mainz Germany, walked 2,240 km, visited 25,179 Pokestops, caught 19,268 mons. Lvl 35, no big deal, a lot of players here are 34-36

@dinon you've walked like 15 km a day since the game came out(that the phone registers) and caught over 150 Pokemon a day on average since then too? How much time does that take a day?

Up

IDK, play 4 - 5 hours a day maybe. More or less intense, sometimes I just walk around and ignore most mons, sometimes I sit on pokestops with lure modules

I'm with ey3con. I spend hundreds and play all day and am behind players who spend nothing? Sucks

Thanks bro. Yeah screw that. I got you when trades come out. ??

And there is no way it's even a location issue. Around my house there are 20 pokestops I can see on my screen and 4 gyms, 2 of which I can just about take from my living room (not quite).

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this one is just not adding up AT ALL.

You mean you can see 20 pokestops in all directions around your house? I can see 20 on the three blocks to the river, and this is by far not the highest density in town. And this is only Mainz, there are places with an even higher density of pokestops and gyms

man...except the fact that he walks 2000km everything is fine. U just need 1250 coins for 25 lucky eggs, 3-4 lured stops and a little time to get on that level.
Your are right this is not only a location issue. It's about efficient gameplay.

Well, it's all relative. I consider that I play quite a bit, but I've caught only ~9000 mons, walked only 600km, and visited only ~8000 pokestops. But I do spend quite a bit of $ (probably close to $500 to date) and I'm Level 33.

If I didn't spend the $, I'd probably be somewhere at Level 25 to 30. If I played as much as the folks above AND spent the $ I do, I'd probably be Level 36+.

This game is all about playing A LOT and doing repetitive stuff to gain XP.

maybe there is a mistake.

I've never seen a player who has captured more monsters than visitig stops.

I haven't spend any money in this game and I'm lvl 33 now. Collecting 10 gyms daily bonus everyday.

Logik! Pokestop give 2 ball. And you need 3 for catch

I'm almost level 29 and didn't spend any money until the halloween event where I bought a bunch of incubators and some lucky eggs. Maybe spent $30-40USD? Obviously gas money for driving around but until then I had not spent any money on pokemon go.

Now that the event is over I'm not spending any more money.

Initially I saved up all my lucky eggs until I hit level 23 or 24. My friend said to not bother using them until the higher levels and I now use them for pidgey/rat evolution parties where I can get close to 70k exp at once sitting.

I just grind it out and don't really look at my exp bar. I'm finding that exp is going pretty quickly now with all the extra spawn locations - now the only problem is not enough pokeballs.

Level 26. $15. All for incubators + 1 lucky egg + 1 incense that the game "bought" for me when I had to put my phone in my pocket for a minute to untangle the damn dog from a bush.

Level 27. Nothing! All coins earned through gyms.

Nothing at all- level 24. The game is moving slowly for me and I'm always tempted to buy incubators. But I think if I started spending I would not stop!

Rural player here. I've spent about $140 on incubators and lucky eggs since starting. Also bought a portable battery backup for times I had to travel to hunt some decent mons. Currently level 29.
