Wild Golem catch

Looking for some feedback: I caught a wild Golem level 27 71% iv with RT/SE not sure if I should power up or evolve another. Here are other options:
91% cp 2529 MS/SE
91% level 20 RT/EQ
Or evolve 96% Geodude ( I hatched 3 96%)
Currently have 152 candies and 250k dust
Thanks in advance

RT/SE is the ideal Golem moveset. I would do that one, no doubt.

You can try evolving the Geodude but the odds of that moveset aren't super great.

Both aren't good. The MS/SE is a weaker version of Rhydon, unless it is Mud Shot. The RT/Earthquake one, maybe as a generalist, but not worth to power up.

Precisely why he should choose the RT/SE one, a moveset Rhydon cannot get

I would evolve the 96% if it gets a bad moveset invest in the RT/SE you will love him he is a beast

I don't think that's true at all- I just used him in gym took down 2.5 dragonite a all over 3k cp

gonna have to disagree as i took out 2 3300 dragonite today and half of the 3rd one consistently when i was tearing down gyms today. so a rock throw stone edge is worth powering up to atleast level 30

You can use same dust on good IV Vaporeon and it will have multi purpose.
- good defender and higher gym spot
- also can take down any other pokemon your golem can take, will be easier to dodge with water gun, can attack other vaporeons without having douple weakness.

Also dragonites have douple weakness for ice so your golem is not even optimal attacker.

Anyone who actually likes Pokemon and anyone who has an identity. Reality is that anyone simply playing to only have the "best" Pokemon isn't playing the game at all.

Have you used him? I have a 100% iv at lvl 20 with RT/SE and he still destroys dragonites (I will be powering up soon)

I am taking the wait and see approach before I power up anything. With the new gym setup on the horizon. The highest you can catch in the wild is level 30, so to find a level 27 and be able to save 125 candies is always a great find. I would keep if for quick turn over gyms. I also keep those high level middle of the road IV for an attacker to reduce revive and potion use, when there seems to be shortage of drops. Unless you really need a dex space, you are sure to a find a use worth more then one candy. Also remember the rock event starts tomorrow, probably going to be plenty of Geodudes spawning for candy.

Yea I would power up to level 30 solely to be used as an attacker. I was very impressed with him vs dragonite and plus he looks super cool. I enjoy using diversity in my attacking lineup anyways. I never use the same type mon.

They're weaker Rhydons on defense essentially, so I would suggest not powering it up for defense. It's niche on offense is that it can have double rock moves which Rhydon can't get.

I would say hold onto the Golem but don't power it up. There's currently not much use for a double rock moveset, since fire types are rarely seen in gyms, but who knows what'll happen in the future.

At least wait until after the rock event. Who knows what you'll find.
