Mantine pest!!!

10 mantines in a row, I almost crushed my phone when yet another fucking useless Mantine popped out of the egg. I am usually a calm guy.

Im fed up off piss poor balance for us rurals. I have to spend cash on balls because there are no stops. There are no rares which forces me to buy incubators to hatch good mons. The two gyms are always sniped by spoofers with Dnite and blissey armies. The most fucked up thing is that theres only piss inside the eggs I have to work hard to obtain.

Niantic, how do you not see that this is bad for businesses? I have spent over 1000E, would have spent *3.

I can never compete with city players and never with cheats.
I am out, I quit this game.

Not to be a dick... but you wouldn't play basketball if you didn't have a team to play with, right? Seems like the odds are stacked against you for PoGo with spoofers + no rares + no stops, I'd have quit trying to play the competitive game a while ago in your position.

If this helps to comfort you I live super close to a big famous city and my past 3 10ks have been 1 pineco and 2 mantine so I feel about 18% of your pain.

I also had very long dry season (since gen 2 came out) but recently it ended and i have got only good pokemons.
2 dratinis
2 larvitar
1 snorlax
1 chansey
(Chansey is recent hatch, cant believe my luck still continues strong)

I hope you also get out of dry season some day, but let me say, it can continue many month, dont lose hope.

Making it to level 35 as a rural player (and fellow clean player at that) is impressive.

I too can't stand the 10K letdown. I'm at the point now where I expect garbage and am at least stoked if I get a dratini,.

I don't think I would play if those were my circumstances.

Sorry to hear that, I (level 34) live in a rural area too but stops and gyms are reasonably close (4 km) and I work in the city, so compared to you I have it good. Like you, I have to buy pokeballs sometimes, which I hate, and spend more money than I would like on incubators and incense, but I consider it my fitness gym membership and just love this game/hobby.

But 10 mantines.... RNG has not been good to you. How unfair!!!! You deserve several snorlaxes next. As for the spoofers - have you reported them to Niantic? I have, the spoofer was never seen again.

You have to decide what the game does for you - my inspiration and ongoing motivation is the exercise/health benefit.... Nothing before has ever made walking and biking such fun! Everything else is a bonus, although I enjoy it as well.

If this isn't important to you, I totally get it if you take a break from this game until Niantic makes it fairer for rural players (add stops! Gyms! Spawns in remote areas! Is this so hard?)

Best of luck, whatever you decide to do.

Well, this community is great. Thx for all replies. I just think it's a shame they don't balance it better. I love the game and concept. I get that this is a money machine but still, why not make it a better product for all.

Niantic is probably not reading this but why not more attractive stuff in 10km? The cheaters allready have them and motivation for hatching would be higher. It would even things out a bit more.

I find I get better mons in 10k's when I have fewer... Just don't incubate more than 1 - 3 eggs at a time and you may get better hatches.

Also, can you make a trip to the nearest city that has good "poke parks" with lots of stops, max out your item storage, stock up on pokeballs and of course catch lots of mons? You have to put in more effort, but you can still play this game. GL!

Chimera1902,
Why do you feel you need to compete with city players? You don't.

We all deal with cheaters.
Cheaters are the worst and hurt the game.

If you don't enjoy playing, then stop.

Consider composing a formal letter to Niantic, explaining your situation. Tell them why you want to or will quit - it might be good for you to do and for them to see. Sleep on it, revise it the next day to smooth out the roughest edges, and send.

I agree with your points. My theory is that Niantic is slow-walking their spoofing/botting work because they can tell sponsors and investors that they have millions(!) of active players that have walked tens of billions(!) of kilometers and spun millions(!) or billions(!) of sponsored stops. They are always promoting such big numbers but the game would not seem so impressive on paper if they only reported the player base of actual humans who are walking around.

I'm compelled to believe that they're slow-walking it because the easiest algorithms could be written to determine cheaters. Average IV of certain wild catches well over 50%? Traveling from place to place faster than any human could, and always happening upon a rare mon? All incredibly easy to detect automatically.

If they ever wanted to do right by their honest players, they would use the data they've collected, ban all blatant cheaters simultaneously in a massive wave and give everyone who is left behind something like 1 coin for every 1000 XP earned (so a Level 35 player like you would get at least 6000 coins).

I have a tiny bit of hope that they've been allowing easy obvious cheating for a reason, so that when they figure out how to deal with sophisticated cheating too, they can purge them all at once rather than encouraging an incremental arms race of security measures and workarounds that make identifying cheaters more difficult.

My circumstances (adequate stops and some stable gyms nearby) allow me to keep playing casually without paying. I might have paid $10 for this game, at most, because I don't think it's been implemented in that good of a way yet.

I'm sorry that you've had such a bad experience. Best of luck to you.

Why don't you just stop giving them money? Eventually all useless stuff will be out from 10k eggs as already happened with useless mon from gen1, and breeding will come out. Slow your game, enjoy, you try to compete with city players, city players try to compete with spoofers, spoofers try to compete with bots...At the end no one wins, only the people that just wants to have fun, explore new places and meet other players on the journey. You will eventually get all mon for sure, just don't give them the pleasure to make you lose your calm while spending that much of real money.

Since launch they have not been a good company, the only they care about is numbers and money, each post they made is the same, even anouncing events they have to state how many kms people have walked, how many mon catched or accounts created, everyone smart enough knows that those numbers are fake, 75% of them are bot accounts and spoofers, probably even more, they are not getting all the money they want because cheaters don't spend money and make legal players stop paying too, so let's just make them know our point.

Anyway, I feel your pain, I know that being rural you don't have much of a chance, but try to go to different stops, eggs are some kind of stop related from my experience, try to get to another area or another town and spin there for new eggs, maybe it will help to change your luck. Don't give up!

Again guys, thx. I'll smud out the rough edges and send a letter. If not for change well then for me and for the people in the same situation.

My most recent 10k hatches:
Skarmory
Gligar
Sudowoodo
Larvitar
Gligar
Mantine
Pineco

I feel your pain, but you're worse off than I am. I would quit paying for incubators for a while. At least spread out the disappointment!

At least wait and see if the event improves anything for you.

I feel sorry for you buddy. I'm probably not in such a bad position as you, but buying balls is something I always try to prevent. Just catching pidgey, weedle and caterpillar for xp purposes.

Getting to level 35 is really impressive.

Sorry to hear this, it's funny for most of us cause we know the pain you're going through lol. It's real.

I havent read any of the replies, but Im sure someone has suggested that you stop investing money into the game... and if that means you can't play? Fine. Go find a better game to play, this one sucks for many people because of where they live. Pokemon's greatness and place in history is set in stone, Niantic's attempt at making a game out of it, is not.
