Ranking Gary vs Dragonite vs Rhydon as Defenders
Of the Tier2.5 Defenders. How do you rake the combinations of Gary, Dragonite, Rhydon for Difficulty to beat including Legacy. I will say that availabity of quality attackers played a role. When it comes to attackers Water/Grass are far and away the most common. I would also argue that there are better quality Ice Attackers then Electric.
This list is entirely based on idea I'd rather face Pokemon 2 then Pokemon 1.
Gary DT, Crunch Dragonite SW, DCDragon Tail makes Gary a much better defender than people give him credit for. 3 Bar moves are very unpredictable and difficult to dodge. Gary DT Hydro Dragonite DT, Outrage Dragonite DT Hurricane Dragonite DB, DC
I get that Outrage is 2 bar, but its pretty easy to dodge. Still It’s dodged Damage is High, Hydropump might not go off if you time your electrics correctly BUT if it does it will KO the electric who misses the hard to dodge attack Rhydon MS, Stone Edge Gary DT, Outrage Dragonite SW, Outrage
I had a hard time between these 3. SE is hard to dodge. Dragonite DT, Hyperbeam Dragonite SW, Dragon Pulse Rhydon RS, Stone Edge
Hyperbeam is just too easy to dodge, even with DT to place higher Gary Bite (Or DB) Hydro Rhydon MS EQ Dragonite DB DP
Hydro being hard to dodge, and EQ easy is key split there. Dragonite SW Hyperbeam Rhydon RS, EQ
Really getting down to bottom hear Gary Bite (or DB) DP Dragonite DB Hyper Rhydon MS Megahorn Rhydon RS Megahorn
So what would you think

Pretty much what the person above me said. Also my thunder bolt jolteon takes out all versions of Gary with the exception of crunch before it can use its charge move. Even then crunch is only used once and I still dodge it. Never taken out a rhydon or dragonite before its charge move even with the ideal attackers. I would put all versions of Gary at the bottom with dragon tail/crunch at the top of the bottom.
DC is plain nasty. You have to dodge everything just to avoid DC. Crunch is as you say, a very good defender move.
There really should be two rankings, 1000 prestige defender and opposing team defender. going for 1000 prestige against DT Gary, your Jolteon can get KO'd, as the Gary can get off more charge moves. Opposing team Gary, with your best Jolteon (mine is Discharge), and a Crunch Gary may get off one, but frequently, as stated above, they die too fast to charge move you.
I agree with you for the most part. Anyone laughing at dt/c Gary hasn't done much actual battling. If using Jolteon you absolutly need to dodge as dt does heavy damage and crunch will wreck it.
Like crunch, dragon claw is also nasty on defense.
I would put bite/anything Gary at the bottom, totally worthless.
Megahorn actually isn't horrible since I normally attack Rhydon with Tangela or Eggy. Megahorn will KO it if it connects. I do find eq worthless. I dont know if its bugged but it feels impossible to miss a dodge against eq.
