Your elite team for Attack/Defense?

Hello. Whats your pokemon team of attackers and defenders? only the elite team. Put the IVs, Moveset and which more pokemon you're looking for to add to the team (attackers or defenders?) in gen 1. I know that all of us use other pokemon to attack too, not elite, not powered etc, but show only your stars.
My teams:

Attackers:
Dragonite, 3048cp, 91.1% IVs, DB/DP;
Exeggutor, 2554cp, 100% IVs, ZH/SoB;
Arcanine, 2463cp, 71.1% IVs, FF/FB;
Vaporeon, 2437, 93.3% IVs, WG/HP;
Exeggutor, 2274cp, 86.7% IVs, ZH/Psy;
Gyarados, 2269cp, 86.7% IVs, B/HP.

Thinking about to add a Lick/BS Snorlax.

Defenders:
Dragonite, 3004cp, 77.8% IVs, SW/DC;
Dragonite, 2761cp, ~38% IVs, SW/HB;
Snorlax, 2719cp, 93.3% IVs, ZH/BS;
Lapras, 2535cp, 82.2% IVs, IS/Blizz.

Im looking to build 6 more defenders: AT LEAST one more Lapras, two more Snorlaxes, SW/DP Dragonite, C/Psy Exeggutor and B/IP Poliwrath or C/Psy Slowbro.

Quite a strong team you have there, Focke. You must have worked hard to obtain some of those IV/Moveset combinations. Your 100% Exeggutor and 93% Snorlax are truely amazing.

My attackers:
Arcanine*, 2515cp, 84% IV, FF/FB
Snorlax, 2274cp, 62% IV, Li/HB
Dragonite, 2250cp, 22% IV, DB/HB
Charizard*, 2178cp, 78% IV, WA/FT
Lapras*, 2084cp, 55% IV, IS/Bliz
Gyarados, 2073cp, 67% IV, Bi/HP

My defenders:
Dragonite, 2418cp, 69% IV, SW/HB
Exeggutor*, 2255cp, 67% IV, ZH/Ps
Vaporeon, 2214cp, 80% IV, WG/AT
Snorlax, 1950cp, 11% IV, ZH/BS
Poliwrath, 1853cp, 67% IV, Bu/Su

Looking to expand my team with more of the same elite defenders you mentioned, as well as an attacking Dragonite and Lapras worth powering up. High IV/Low CP candidates have consequently turned up with a bad moveset for me, so only the ones marked(*) are powered.

Before the update I usually had to use some of my attackers as defenders, but now that gyms last 10 minutes I usually just put expendable 1500cp Hypno/Clefables in there and rarely utilize the few workable defenders I have. Hopefully my defenders roster will be stronger the day Niantic makes good defenders viable again.

Thanks, i was very very lucky with eggs. Firstly i hatched 3 Lapras in 1 week, only the last comes with A moveset but the two first gave me the candies that i needed to max out the last monster. Then i got double lucky on hatching my 100% exeggcute and evolving it with the best moveset. The final lucky hatch was my Snorlax 93.3% with the best move for defend and 4x candies (halloween event), it was the only Snorlax i hatched untill now.

Congrats for your team, this Charizard looks awesome! mine comes with Ember/Dragon Claw -.-'. Did you powered your Snorlax Lick/HB? its usefull for attack or too low damage? im thinking about to power up my 82.2% Lick/BS one.

You caught in the wild ur 55% Lapras ? it never spawned here.

Sounds like you did indeed have luck with your eggs hatching, but you may have invested more heavily in incubators than me, in which case it's well earned. All 3 hatches are very desirable.

The Charizard is evolved and powered from 26 to 30. I love the starters and want to bring one of each to lvl 30. My next project is a 726cp 96% Bulbasaur, so I hope RNGsus will grant me a usable moveset.

The Snorlax was caught wild in my own yard, which is one of my lucky moments in PoGo. It's a very durable attacker which is great for taking down lvl 10 gyms on my own, as it will take down 3 or more defenders on its own even if it takes a bit of time. For shorter gym battles, he is rarely used. He has not been powered, and might never be, despite Lick/HB making him fairly versatile to attack with.

I have caught 4 wild Lapras, and the 55% was caught at lvl 18 and powered to lvl 25,5 in lack of hatching a better candidate. If I still have more candy left when I eventually hatch a better Lapras, I'll power him up and leave him in a gym. He has 15 attack, so despite low IV, his CP is decent for his lvl.

For attackers, my team is not really very varied. Just 3 dragonites and 3 arcanines which will handle most gym defenders. Arcanines primarily for laprases or any grass, while dragonites for any other types ( including dragonites ).

If the gym is really dragonite heavy, might swap one arcanine out for a lower cp/IV lapras.

This video basically sums up my 6 attackers ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_vMAel-Go8 )

Top defender is my buttslam snorlax. Other than that, I dun really concentrate much on defensive mons coz gyms in my area fall down very quickly after the recent gym attack buff/defense nerf patch.

Defense
Slowbro 100iv, 2319 Con/psy
Dragonite 71iv, 3009 SW/DP
Dragonite 52iv, 2869 Sw/DP
Exeggutor 96iv, 2617 Con/psy
Snorlax 52iv, 2402 Zen/HB (still haven't decided which to upgrade)
Trying to choose a sixth to focus on

Attackers
Machamp 91iv, karate/stone edge
Dragonite 84iv, 2803 DB/HB
Venusaur 100iv, 2138 Vine/SB
Gyarados 84iv, 22xx bite/hydro
Random

I've had bad luck finding attackers. Got 7 or 8 SW dragonites. My FIFTH bulldoze arcanine in a row now. (Growlithe had over 1000 cp, I could have screamed) I like using machamp for fun and lapras. Venusaur for Vapes, dragonite for real gyms.

Damn. 8 Dragonites with SW and fifth Arcanines with Bulldoze....so sad. At least beautiful Venusaur you have!.

Ive only evolved one dragonite, it had dragon breath thankfully, my road spawns high cp low iv dragonites. All had SW/dp except one that had SW/HB.

The steel wings aren't bad at all, but the bulldoze is killing me! Right before I evolved a 98 growlithe I caught the 1000+ so I evolved it into a 2400+ bulldoze. So I still have a 98iv I'm hoping won't get it. Surely I can't get 6 in a row.

Mine are:

Arcanine 75% IV 2481 CP Fire Fang / Fire Blast
Vaporeon 84% IV 2397 CP Water Gun / Aqua Tail
Lapras 91% IV 2058 CP Frost Breath / Blizzard
Clefable 77% 1955 CP Pound / Moonblast
Tentacruel 94% IV 1903 CP Poison Jab / HydroPump
Wigglytuff 86% IV 1879 CP Pound / Hyper Beam

For defense I use any random pokemon with high CP.

Actually I want to ask such a question before. But elite teams can be very different to different trainers. For me, I let the game AI to pick attackers for gyms and strictly speaking I don't need any defensive pokemon as gyms in my area are so competitive and can last for hours (if not minutes).
Therefore, my elite teams are for collection and fun to look at as follows:
Offense:
dragonite, 3005, 86%, db/dc
vaporeon, 2522, 84%, wg/at
gyarados, 2477, 100%, b/hp
gyarados, 2334, 89%, b/dp
2 other dragonites, 2763, 68%, db/dc & 2626, 75%, db/hb

Defense:
dragonite, 3000, 84%, sw/dp
lapras, 2539, 89%, is/bliz
gyarados, 2271, 86%, b/dp
poliwarth, 2115, 89% b/hp
exeggutor, 1657, 8x%, c/sb
dragonite, 2808, 68%, sw/dc

Thanks.
I'd like to have the board diversity of top tier teams you've got. Amazing.
BTW, what level you are at? Hopefully, I can work to your diversity at your level.

Yes, you can check my full answer about Golem here: https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/Q-A/any-good-use-golem-rock-throwstone-edge

Basically is good against Snorlax with HyperBeam and BodySlam, if it has EQ is not that good.

What I've learned from reading this is... apparently flex picking goes down a ton once you've got most/all of the Teir 1 attackers.

Attackers: 80% of the time they are tailored to what I'm facing. The 3 that end up fighting the most are these 3:
Vaporeon, 1910 cp, 66.7%, WG/AT
Venusaur, 1744 cp, 88.9%, VW/SB
Pidgeot, 1472 cp, 66.7%, WA/H

Defenders:
Vaporeon 2171 cp, 84.4%, WG/WP
Vaporeon 2170 cp, 82.2%, WG/WP
Exeggutor 2132 cp, 68.9%, C/SB

Well, since the latest update I'm not really seperating anymore, since defensiv mons became useless, but here are my top 6:

Attack:
2500 93% Vaporeon WG/HP
2185 89% Arcanine B/Fb
2251 73% Vaporeon WG/HP
2069 80% Slowbro WG/Psy
2334 44% Snorlax ZH/HB
2033 80% Victreebell RL/LB

Defense:
3020 91% Dragonite SW/HB
2287 87% Slowbro C/IB
2259 89% Venusaur RL/Sludge
2520 84% Exeggutor C/Seed
2365 87% Vaporeon WG/AT
2365 56% Lapras IS/IB

Evolved 6 Eggs, but all came out with C/Seed or C/Solar. Didnt hatch a good Lapras/Snorlax aswell, but managed to find some with good movesets in the wild :)
Think about powering up my 87% 2115 B/HP Poli, but not sure about that, since its sitting too damn low in the gyms nowadays.

Got exeggutor with c/seed at level 20. Worth power up? Seems c/psychic is a bit better.

Got the same poliwrath as yours. Similar consideration.

Up

I believe it's quite close, since the AI is almost constantly spamming Seed Bombs, making it hard for an attacker to get off the charge move without being hit by some bombs. In terms of pure damage and typing of course Psychic is better, but after 6 failed evolutions I just wanted to have at least one strong defensive Eggy. A 1,2+ Scyther/Parasect is probably going to take down your Eggi anyway though, but Seed gives you a slight advantage against Lapras, while Psychic helps against Arcanine. Anyway, just Confusion already makes it a nasty defender, even with the suboptimal Solarbeam.

I would really love to hear someone elses thoughts about it! Right now, I tend to spend my dust on him, since he is pain in the ass to take down. Still I'm hesitating, because if Niantic won't make defenders viable again, its probably pointless and more useful to have another strong offensive Vape/Arcanine...

Here is my attacking team. It's my go to practically for every gym battle, no matter the level.

  1. Exeggutor, 2788 CP, 95.6%, ZH/SB
  2. Vaporeon, 2675 CP, 100%, WG/AT
  3. Dragonite, 3325 CP, 100%, DB/DP **
  4. Muk, 2447 CP, 95.6%, PJ/GS
  5. Gyarados, 2548 CP, 97.8%, Bite/HP
  6. Poliwrath, 2355 CP, 95.6%, Bubble/HP

** Similar to redeye, none of the Dragonites I've caught/evolved have the top attacking (or defensive) moveset.

Arcanine - 93 IV, 2021 CP, FF/FB
Exeggutor - 87 IV, 2155 CP, ZH/SB
