So how many of you power up "Wild" Low IV/Good Moves Evolved Pokemon like dragonite

So I caught a level 25 Dragonite.

It has the Dragon Tail / Outrage Combo

14 Attack 10 Stam 2 Defense for 53%

Please "Like" this if you would Power it up to 30+
because of the Moves

Please "Dislike" this if you wouldn't because of the IVs

I have a lvl 33.5 Dragonite DB/DC with 40% IV. Caught at 26xx CP.
I have now a lvl 3 dt/hu , iv 20 that I will not because I already have a dt/hu. Otherwise I would seriouslly think about it.

You could spend way more candy than it takes to power it up, just trying to evolve that moveset.

A dragon in the hand is worth 2 in the wild....or something like that.

Powered up a tyranitar B SE 40iv initially at 2230 to L30 now.

Same for 6x% dragonite DT OR from 1855 to L30. Will do the same for 5x% dragonite

I powered up my 44% DB/DC after it went legacy. Haven't regretted it. You can spend your candy getting SW or you can take a sure thing. Having just evolved SW/HB, I'd take the sure thing.

I'm not really a fan of powering up most attackers...I think a Lvl 25 isn't going to perform that much better than a level 30 to be willing to spend the dust and rare candies on it personally.

This is all from lack of experience however since I don't have a great Dragonite to know what I am missing...

It typically doesn't matter, but there are the very few cases in which it does. I guess those cases are against high level Blisseys. When it comes down to a couple of seconds, that little bit can be the difference.

I caught a 62% 27xx cp db/dc Dragonite. I powered it up to about 3000 cp. BUT I did this once that moveset became legacy. If you are not in dire need for an attacker, I would hold off and see if that becomes a legacy moveset before you get another one. But if candies are a hard thing for you to come by, power it up...you could always do like me and evolve 2 more sw/hb Dragonites...either way, I wouldn't feel bad about powering that guy up.

I have the second best moveset Dragonite with Dragon Tail + Hyper Beam, that I caught him wild,
40% IV - 5 Atk, 11 Def, 2 Stam
I didn't regret powering up him and he is extremely useful. Other than the second move set to pick on, he just rules and attacks like a machine.

My first ever Dragonite was a wild level 1 (74cp) with 58% ivs (15-0-11). It has db/dc, and once that moveset became legacy I spent all my candy I had been saving for almost a year and brought that bad boy to 3053 Cp... I don't regret powering him up, its a beast!

I caught a wild Magikarp with 51%IV (9 HP / 0 ATT / 14 DEF), evolved it, got Dragon Tail / Outrage, and I am in the process of maxing it out.

It's a shiny, though, otherwise none of this would have happened...

I caught a 35% shiney Karp that has zero attack. Feels bad man.

I powered him up to 36.5 and hes sitting at 2833CP. Kinda low but he's shiney.
