Is this correct?
My level 33 snorlax is guarding gym and attacker is level 10, so my snorlax cp will be lowered to match attackers level.
If this is correct, then whats the point for being high level anymore? if defender pokemons cp will always be lowered???
In old days my snorlax was able to defeat 6 shitty pokemons from low level trainers, but i think its pretty much impossible now if the cp is lowered that much.

There's no way Niantic would implement the level scaling for enemy attackers.
That would STRONGLY disincentivize leveling and basically everything in the game. So strongly that if they did that, I wouldn't be surprised if almost everyone quit. I know I would.
I'm not going to say Niantic is a brilliant company, but the fact that Ingress is still going at least proves they aren't stupid enough to do something that basically torpedoes their game.
