Type Events could learn from Pokemon Duel

So in Pokemon Duel, every 2-3 weeks there will a gym event lasting about a week, during which two types get buffed in the gameplay. Actually, there is one going on right now (Water & Grass).
I hope there will be something similar in Pokemon GO. Aside from increased spawns, the event type Pokemon can get buffed in gyms (such as gym placement CP +300, move damage +20%, etc), to see a more variety in gym meta (hey, a 3000cp coconut tree, deal with that before?). Pokemon Duel's event pretty much does the same effect - during the event players use figures(mons) and strategies which they wouldn't otherwise.

Added: They can already do that technically. Remember the CP adjustment last Nov? They did it on the server, and everything changed. So it's possible to change base stats for a certain period and so on.

Anyone feels the same?

By CP buff you mean stats buff? Or just cp number purely for placement?

Maybe increase att value by 20% and stab from 25% to 50%? I would like that. But after event end a mon in gym will keep the cp for position but loose the att increase during fights.

I originally thought that only CP number increase (add a constant to normal CP), but then I agree with you, why not stats buff? That could improve battle performance and gym placement at the same time.
And yeah, gym CP is static, so after event only keeps CP but not stats.

I think they are doing this events so people keep engaged until the rework or the anniversary,
The gym rework should be the one dictating how the future goses the rework either make it or break it

Or possibly special "limited edition" event only movesets that become legacy after the event ends. This would encourage players to hunt for particular mons or have high IV & CP mons saved for potential evolutions. This would encourage gym battlers and collector type players equally I think.

PoGo doesn't need attack buffs 'cos it has HP, unlike Duel. Maybe defense buffs so that actual type gyms would appear.

P.S. I hate Gyarados in Duel soooo much. Even if I had it I wouldn't use it 'cos it's so ugly. I just had to say it somewhere, bleh.

1) I'm the one suffering from this rush and the eventual Storms, 2) these Gyarados figures are always facing me and the figure is so small I only see that huge maw and the disgusting unibrow on top of it XD
