Saving charge move for the next defender

I believe that it is common to intentionally not use a charge move on an almost-dead defender, so that the charge move can be used on the next defender instead (especially if that is Blissey or the charge move would be SE).

Is there a term for this tactic? If an attacker/prestiger with a full charge bar is switched out, can it use its charge move immediately after being switched back in? (For example, imagine a gym with a Dragonite in between two Blisseys. A Machamp with Count/DP finishes off the first Blissey and has enough energy to fire off DP immediately, but the trainer switches to Cloyster to kill the Dragonite. When Machamp comes back on to attack the next Blissey, can it fire off DP immediately?)

No, unfortunately, using the DP on the Dragonite will be eventually more efficient.

No you can't 'conserve energy' if you switch out on mons. Once you switch out, any energy you have saved is gone.

And that's also the argument for 2 bar moves VS 1 bar moves because it's less likely you'll run into this scenario if your mon possesses 2 bar moves.

However, if I know there is no impending difficulty (no blissey or snorlax) for the next mon then I generally just waste the rest of my one bar move, and think in my head 'GET WRECKED' to my opponent in the gym

This is exactly why pokemon placement in a gym is important. I try to place pokemon to force people to switch something out, such as my fire pokemon between water pokemon. This at least makes gyms more annoying...until shavers get around to messing it up.

no, there is no term for.
not to my knowledge.

no, they can't.
what is a pity, imho.
it would cut the time i usually spend to bring down an enemy tower significantly.

so i second this as a suggestion

A scenario where I learned not to lunch the charge in next mon is with gya, since in that case he will charge his before I manage to kill it with my jolt, coysing in fact more damage to my Jolteon.
Also with Rhydon messes with my cycle :) and usually if I start the fight with a HP I eat a stine edge(eartquate is too easy to dodge).

I fire off the charge move and press switch immediately.

As its already said thats why gym placement is important also, and having consecutive gyarados/rhydons/nites only makes attacker be more efficient.

Thats also why generalists attackers are taken into account and are also valued (depends also on personal byas)

For me for example as a casual not gona walk out of house for a mon neither i gona cheat i mainly get a ton of regular mons.

Right now since last patch my eggys with solar beam are the main attackers because of unresisted movements againts the top CP and good performance if not top. Only trex technically stops him and still a SoB hurts him bad and gya also is bad option still a SoB is not resisted before swap to jolt.
Dragonite is the only holder of SoB still i also throw it.

So if im killing a rhydon and i end with full SoB next mon will eat it and not resist it, usually normal damage unless is even SE.

Still it all can change with meta or game changes vefore last changes this place was more vape than eggy. Now can also be blissey doing this more slow really potion efficient with max ones.

Thats also why with infinite resources you would blind pick 6 nites with dt/ot and steamroll gyms like nothing. Wich is what i guess spoofers do.

it's basically playing conservative, which is correct.
Ricky in some situations though
