Tyranitar with Fire Blast

I evolved 3 straight 96IV Tyranitar and all of them got Bite FireBlast. Has anyone else experienced this?

Nope, you are cursed. You shall never evolve anything different. You should stop trying.

I am kidding of course, but it is very common to get that moveset.

Or am I kidding? twilight zone music

My 100IV Blissey got Zen Headbutt DG so i'm not complaining. (Although my 100IV Dragonite got SW/HB) but I wanted to see if other people had the same luck with TREX.

Very frequently from what I read in Q&A, although people only tend to post about negative things.

Or he could walk a lot... buy incubators... and have natrual larvitar spawns or nests... Please don't assume.

Embrace the fire blast. Become one with it... trick your mind into believing it has purpose!

My single Tyranitar got the same crappy moveset after I worked my ass off getting the candy for it. Shitty feeling, so I feel your pain.

Anyway, Tyranitar has 6 movesets, so if there's an equal chance of all 6 (of which I am not sure) your chance of randomly getting three in a row of B/FB is 1 in 216. That is a low probability but it is not stupid rare. It's about the same chance you have of getting an evolution item when you spin a pokestop. And infact you could argue that the probability is higher than that. If what you are really asking is: "how likely is it that I will get 3 of the same movesets in a row" the answer is 1 in 72. You just happened to get B/FB.

In other words, you had terrible luck, but it was certainly "just" bad luck. No higher powers conspired against you! ;-)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep playing the RNG game, at least these move sets might become legacy. Good luck!

Tyranitar is weak to grass, so the only use is against bugs because he is also weak to steel. So not really :-/

I hope for TM. Would love to surprise attackers with a Solar beam Rhydon.

My first and only one received Iron Tail + Crunch.

I'm in the same boat, but really wanted bite. Oh well, the slow energy build of iron tail, is compensated by its slow cool down to help me miss dodges, and build energy that way. Anyway, I'm walking sheep for a while, before I try again.
