Gym Pokemon?
So I'd like to know if CP did not determine placement in gyms what are like your top 3 or so pokemon that you really just want to put in a gym or who would you like to fight against in a gym? Me personally I would love to see Slowbro in gyms Sadly mine has WG/IB so not ideal but I would love to put him in gyms.

I don't understand why those Pokemon would make you stop gym battling.
I giggle like a little girl when I see Dragonite in a gym. (I got 3 Lapras, lvl 30 Feraligatr w/ Ice Beam, level 30 Golem, and a 1700CP Cloyster)
For the other 2 fatties I have: A few Eggy's w/ Solar Beam, 2200CP Machamp, 2100CP Alakazam, lvl 30 Golem, 2 Ursaring, and believe it or not 4 Pinsir with fighting moves.
The hardest part about battling the 3 Pokemon is looking for the guys above. LULZ
Dragonite, Exeggutor, Gyarados and Snorlax would still dominate my local gym meta (and I would still use them) for cultural reasons. Even with low CP (or CP disregarded), Blissey would remain a beast unless nerfed.
Slowbro is definitely on my top three list (and would likely enter my local meta, as Slowpokes are common). Other candidates would be Lapras, Omastar and Wigglytuff.
I have a strong hatred for most of the big 7 due to the double weaknesses of them, Only Blissey,Snorlax, and Vaporeon are good out of the big 7 and it makes me so mad to know that people are just putting there highest cp pokemon in gyms even tho they aren't even that good. And that makes the game bland and boring just because of peoples ingnorance including niantic for coming up with cp in the first place.
There is an article on this front page that explains what we all already knew. Even these double weakness mons are as good or in cases better than the ones mentioned in this thread. For example Steelix seems like a popular suggestion but guess what? He gets smoked by the ever common Vapes. If we are going to give Tyranitar hell for that with his huge base stats and potential moveset coverages then we better not even mention him. My Scizor goes through way more Eggs than my glass cannon Jolt will make it through Gyarados. Etc.There needs to be real change to the battle metrics and system to address the real problem. Making it OK for lesser mons to hang around gyms will just create a larger diversity of laughable defenders. But hey Nidoqueen will at least have a use I guess.
Perhaps I should clarify "for cultural reasons". I am from Singapore, where dragons are held in high regard by the Chinese majority. Indigenous Malays really love cats, white is among their sacred colours and the "fat, lazy, but strong" stereotype is really endearing. In other words, how can you hate Dragonite, Gyarados and Snorlax? As for Exeggutor, there are many coconut trees along the streets in Singapore. Most local gym metas are also influenced by biome. Magikarp and Exeggcute are very common here, while Dratini is easy to farm.
