Nanab Berries
For which species are Nanab Berries more useful than Razz Berries?
Answers
One time I threw on a lucky egg (not for mass evolving but for catching and swiping) and I found mons to e much more hyper than usual. I was fortunate at the time as I had not yet cleared my bag of nanabs and was able to use them to both conserve resources and to gte more catches. I remember a lot of zubat and magnemites in particular
Agreed. Nanabs are far less valuable than anything else, but they aren't entirely useless. Perhaps eight Nanabs are equal in value to one Pokeball and 50XP, assuming you don't mind taking the time to use it.
To the original question: Nanab Berries are far more valuable than a Razz Berry when catching a 10-30CP anything - most likely Pidgeys, Ledybas, Sentrets, Weedles, etc.
To expand on this a bit, they are most useful on low CPs with a slow moving catch circle. Having to wait longer for the circle to get small enough for a great/excellent throw generally makes it more likely that a last second headbutt or jump will thwart your first ball. Using the Nanab berry helps prevent that.
I use them on anything hard enough to catch that I throw a great ball at it, but easy enough that it doesn't also need a razz berry. So high-level rats and such get most of mine, and it does help prevent those annoying encounters where the pokemon attacks or jumps with perfect timing to dodge eight throws in a row.
