Another Dragonite question...

Dragonite with DB/DC, 15/15/10 (89%).

Should i power up beyond level 30?

Should I wait for a 90+ IV?
Should I wait for a Gen 2 more powerful attacker?

....thoughts?

When i read those questions I have to wonder if some people are able to think by themself.

I mean You are using this page. Your have the strongest attacker ingame with best moveset with 89% IV......

That question is not worth any thoughts... just push it to hell

For me, yes because I want at least my top attacker of CP >= 3k. Haha... personal preference here.

What is his CP?
And how often do you catch dratinis?

I should have been (much) more clear indeed.

FACTS:
I am at level 34.
I already have a fully powered up attacking Dragonite with DB/HB 15/13/14 (93%) at level 34.5 with 3202CP.

My 15/15/10( 89%) DB/DC sits at 1283CP.

I have the candy and dust to do it.

Daily I can get about 4-8 drat ini's... if i have the time to go to the docks... lets just say 20 a week for sure.

Thing is all my Dragonites evolved from dratinis that that were caught before the pocedex-index-number fix, and i can't seem to find any powerful ones like before, especially with attack of 15, which is I believe a priority.

As for defending Dragonites I am covered.

I've tested him in action and DC is indeed very useful with dodging and all...

So again sorry for not sharing all the info in the first place

No , right now I'm power up Poliwrath with mud shot/Hydro pump and use as main attacker.

If you are still at a loss, I'll advise you to transfer it to the professor. He will then be able to perform a proper professional appraisal of the value of your dragonite and tell you whether it is worth powering up.

Power him up as soon as possible. I'm also lvl 34 and I wanted to have the highest IV's along time but so much lvl 10 gyms knocking down later I experienced that movesets are as important as IV ratings in my opinion.
And 89% with the best moveset is like a dream for so much players including me.

If you already have Dragonites for defending and are just looking for an attacker then high CP really doesn't matter much and CP is arguably the main reason why people look for such high IVs with Dragonite (also, maxed out attack will give high CP compared to maxed out stamina). The main thing I look for with an attacker Pokemon is 15 attack, then less importantly 15 defense; 15 stamina doesn't matter much, it is probably something like 10HP difference so it really doesn't make any difference. In fact the way gyms work right now though it is better to have powerful low CP Pokemon attackers, so you might not even want to power it up, unless you are looking for trying to tear through a L5 gym using just this Pokemon to save on potions and what not. So yeah if that is your goal then power it up!

Just transfer it. 5 IVs less than perfect is literally unusable.

Maybe once in a thousand gym battles you'll be in a situation where your Dragonite faints where a perfect IV one wouldn't have.

It's a priority if you have no high CP dragon/dragon moveset definite yet. I would stop a lvl30 though because it is already so strong.

You pay too much attention to IV and even more to stats repartition. A 7/15/15 db/dc dragonite is def better than a 15/15/15 db/hb one.
