Gym rework for May Update??

Since there really isn't a holiday to celebrate in May because cinco de mayo isn't really one and mothers day is a huge stretch I think and veterans day doesn't seem appropriate. So my guess it'll either be a random thing like the water event or perhaps the gym rework will be the big update like niantic has planned for every 3 quarters like how gen2 was the big update back in February. Any ones thoughts on this?

Water event isn't random it was a celebration of other countries' holiday/events. Stop looking at your US calendar for events this is a global game.

Very American view... I expect a grass-type event for May but that is my opinion. I am American as well, I am just embarrassed by how geo-phobic this post is.

Thanks for this comment...when I make comments like this I get told how irrelevant the southern hemisphere is.

Parochial is a better description.
...but you get the idea.

No need to get offended.

My opinion is that we should see both, a "small" related biome (maybe a grass or rock event) with probably double dust or candies and a gym rework as an update.

I don't think Niantic should only do one of them, one only thing per month is not enough to keep people engaged, and less even on a mobile game. If they are gonna keep the calendar and make 4 updates per year they should also keep the work of an event per month.

They should never follow the line of event=content update, they are not the same at all.

Actually, May 1st is International Workers' Day and is a big deal in many countries. As in national holiday, nationwide binge drinking, gigantic festivals, ritual riots, ... But it is too close to Easter this year, so I do not expect any PoGo event.

I think you guys overestimate the time an "event" takes to do versus redesigning a battle system. I mean most events are just a few slides in rarity to the same spawn/hatch rates as other mons. So no real time tbh.

Problem is one Niantic employee is on holiday and the other is busy......

Then they need to hire more guys and that problem is bigger than this. To compare the two is like saying "I cannot make it to work today because I have to stop and get gas"

(or petrol...I do not want to appear geo-phobic lol)

Sometime between mother's and father's day would be a great time for an event that would introduce breeding, but I'm not sure if that's something they want to do at the moment.
