Anyone else lose motivation after hitting level 35?
lol the end is so far away.

This game, unfortunately, has become part of my daily life.
I did gym ? every day. At first I just felt the need of exercise. But then it became my regular activity and at some time I mix the reality with virtual gyms (to feel that there's an actual gym there). Pretty sad huh... AR is so toxic.
So even I'm close to 39 I'm still fighting with my little friends in my phone. LoL
Try to find a couple of pet projects to keep you occupied. Just see it as "grind" is surely demotivating.
Mine (lvl 40) are:
- Get all my 100% mons to lvl 39, regardless of movesets. Really funny one because it keeps you look for Ponyata candy a few weeks and maybe Charamander the next.
- Get one of every mon/family above IV 80%, then also get the best move sets in each family, and then most/all movesets. Then raise the bar to >90% :-)
- Get as many as possible over 3000, 2500 or 2000 CP.
- Get as many as possible to max level.
That will keep you occupied until you have all movesets of all mons at lvl 39 with 100% IV. :-)
Finding new goals in this game is the key I think...to keep grinding/playing...
I'm still in a rush to level and still catch everything I see and my current goal is, assuming the gym thing doesn't change yet, try to get 10+ mons in gyms so I can wake up and hit collect.
Still not enough defenders and gyms around here turn over too quickly that it's quite hard to get that many gyms.
Everyone around you also leveled a lot during the event so have to keep up...
It would really be nice if they made more daily quest/goals to do, etc...or even introduce a storyline.
I'm still motivated after lvl 35 since:
- some other lvl 35 reached 36 right after Easter event. I still have 300k to go.
- at lvl 36 my highest vapes, a HP and a WP Vape (oldest mon btw :) ) will pass 3k CP mark. AT one will not pass , is only 82 IV.
But I feel once that done and with 2kk till lvl 37 I will not pay attention to xp that much, but focus on DUST.
I'm slowing down at 32 but still in it for the long haul. I commonly trash the junk I cat h without bothering to check. God some reason I cat he's those level 2 nidoran and had a strange feeling. Appraised and bam! 15/15/15! Its small pleasures like that, that keep me interested. Im in the daily catch\spin and check near the stops when on my walking route. And grind hard body in events.
I'm loosing interest too at lvl 33. Was really dissapointed with the easter event and only made 50k XP during that time. I farm my 5k of dust from gyms every day and power up dust-worthy mons, but with 41! mons at or over lvl 31,5 there is really not that much more to do apart from walking chansey and snorlax to get a second one of each of them to the max.
I only managed to get 34 during the event and that's annoying 'cos I'm tired to spend dust on powerups just to get half of the CP. And don't you start boring me about calculators, IV calc is enough nerdy maths for me. You see, I care about plenty other 'mons besides your precious top tier, and I power up an occasional nidoqueen or umbreon for gym diversity and simply because I like 'em. Plenty of gyms in the city and medium-level defenders, your usual prestigers' CP cap doesn't work here because the lowest 'mon is typically around 2200, sometimes even lower than 1000. But that's fine, one can throw freshly caught pidgeys at this sort of defender. I get bored when no updates happen for long or I'm surrounded with crappy nests, but it's fine to take breaks from the game and do other stuff.
I'm currently level 32 and I must be the ONLY guy who doesn't give a damn about leveling up faster. Don't get me wrong, before hitting level 30, I wanted to level up as fast as possible. Now I don't really care about leveling up fast. I just want to have the best Pokemon I can possibly catch and get them to level 30, and also try to collect at least 50 coins a day. During the Easter event, I noticed a ton of people buying lucky eggs. I just didn't understand that move because there was already double XP. I, on the other hand, bought egg incubators. You have to set goals, like the above poster has, and just enjoy the game.
I'm the same way, my goal was to hit level 30 to have access to all items but after that I didn't care about exp too much. Currently over level 33 with 8-10 gyms daily with all my mon at 30 or lower, no need to power up anymore yet. I think I had one lucky egg leftover from lv. 30 when event started and bought only one more during for a bit of 4x exp for shits and giggles.
Not concerned with leveling too much, just collecting resources
I hit 35 during the event. I also have significantly slowed down since the event.
At 35, I am near the top end of the spectrum in my area. I see a few 36 - 39, but not many, and I hold one of the top 3 spots in 8 gyms. I deliberately don't go after all 10 gyms, because it gives me something to do on the way to work in the morning. Hit 2 gyms and take them down.
I am concentrating on trying to improve my menagerie. The "rare" mons are still rare here, so those are the ones that I'm trying to find/catch/hatch. I haven't farmed many pidgies, if that is the type of thing that you are referring to.
I'm level 34. I have every single Best Gym Attacker listed in this website, with their Best Moveset, and their IV above 90, all level 31.. I have 8 level 30 Blissey all IV 80 above, and a few Snorlax level 30.. I can easily get 10 gyms daily... and already completed my 233 pokedex (limited by only regionals Mons.)
My target of this game was Level 30, because there is totally no point in getting a Mon above level 30.. its waste of dust and candies, as a level 30 100% IV mon will be stronger than a level 40 0% mon.. besides, what is the point of leveling up the Mon to max level when u still lose the gym in 5 mins no matter how strong ur defender are or how highly is it positioned in the Gym level...
I play very casually and still able to get to level 34.. the last event granted me half a level only, used 2 lucky egg...
To me, the End Point of the game would be having many different typing Best attacker Mon to easily conquer 10 gyms daily, place some moderately high level Best Defender in, hoping to last 1 hr while u conquer.. and then seeing the next day all ur so-called best defenders are dead and u revive them, and the cycle repeat..
Pokémon Go is a simple game, one direction, luck dependent, and not fun, and do not require skills... without any more improvement by Niantic, there is totally no point in continue playing...
personally I just log in daily to collect my daily bonus and get few gyms..
there are more things to life to focus on.. stop playing this game like it is the best game ever or a big part of ur life...
spend ur time on better games in PC/Console.. read some books, do some exercise, go out with friends, spend time with loved ones, and go travelling.. I'm surprised to see so many ppl who are above level 30 still trying hard to level up, catch everything, improve the Mon level, trying to find more motivation to play etc.. shocking!!!
I do 10 gyms frequently, but now slow down to only 4 gyms per day.
Fellow? Who are they? Who cares? A real player or a spoofer, is there any difference? A player who is Level 20 and level 40 means nothing.. a 3100CP Blissey and 2000 Blissey are just the same.. still beaten down within 99 sec no matter what.. so what's the point caring so much about Level??
