Muk question

Hi, recently evolved a 89iv lvl20 grimer and got Poison Jab/Gunk Shot which is ranked A both on offense and defense on this site. Is there any use for him on attack and/or defense that's worth maxing (at least lvl30) ? Thanks

Unfortunately no, he's not really worth it. Having said that I have a 96% Muk sitting at 2233CP that I continue to power up whenever I get the candies. Not because he is useful but because I think he's cool and seeing him in gyms is very rare.

His CP is too low but every now and then I pop him in a gym for fun.

he is like lapras on defense? annoying but its CP is too low? and on offense, any good experience? Poison type is not so great in this meta I guess.. thanks for the reply :)

He's pretty bulky (high HP stat) and definitely takes a while to kill, but due to the prevalence of strong Psychic mons every player should have an easy counter to him on defense.. He's a solid, though kind of slow, neutral STAB attacker.

Poison attacks are only super effective against fairy and grass type mons, but unfortunately, you won't see any weak fairies or grass (except one, eggman) mons at gyms. The problem vs exeggutor is exeggutor's quick move is most likely psychic type (confusion, zen headbutt, extrasensory) which hits super effectively against poison type. Too bad, but I don't see any use of poison type mons in this meta, not even as specialists. I might have missed something though, if I did, feel free to correct me.

He is on the Blissey chart as being a mediocre option. Other than that, you're right on. If the gym meta is ever changed to make low CP defenders relevant, fairies might come into play; but right now, there's no use for them on defense.

I have a 96% with the same moveset that I have consistently powered up for fun as well. He's at 2228. I have used him to prestige against 2400 or so Blisseys. Not my favorite for sure, but it was fun to put him to use.

I have 2 high level Muks, both with poison jab, one with sludge wave and the other with dark pulse. I am always sticking one into gyms, he is in one now. I use my other as a generalist attacker. He is bulky and his attacks arent resisted. He shouldnt be a priority, but he is very usable.

Mine has dark pulse which is effective against psychic mons so when people attack mine with psychic at least they are getting hit with dark pulse. It comes pretty quick and they might not be expecting it. Hits fairly hard too.

I'd love to get my Muk 2550 or so and continue to stick him in gyms but going to be a long time until I get enough candies.
