what would move you out of your bed after midnight

Dratini many times

only once. For an Alakazam CP around 2000.
....
....
It ran away.

Never found encouragement to get out of bed again.

Honestly it would probably have to be a Dragonite or Tyranitar.

A Snorlax and Lapras would temp me

I went out at 1am a couple of days ago looking for an Ampharos that showed on my nearby...I didn't get it though.

EDIT Oh yeah...I am out the door faster than anyone can stop me if I see an Unown on my nearby.

Lapras (before I finally managed to catch one during the water event) and Aerodactyl. Perhaps Tyranitar, as I have only ever seen one Larvitar, which fled after my first throw.

Pretty much anything that could potentially be above 2000 CP. Further, Chansey and any stages of Tyranitar and Ampharos (as long as I don't have the latter one).

Hopeful answer: A Dragonite, a Tyranitar, or a Snorlax.

Truthful answer: I'd look at my wife sleeping next to me and ponder the divorce proceedings that would likely follow.

When the game was new I ran out after a Rhydon in the pouring rain around midnight. I now have about 6 Rhydon anyway so looking back, not worth it.

I would get up and go outside for:
-Any gen 1 mons that I haven't ever caught in the wild
-Any gen 2 mon that I haven't acquired by any means
-Mareep
-Chansey
-Togetic

If I can get it from inside my house (I get an hourly spawn of a water pokemon at the other end of my house from my bedroom), I would get out of bed for:
-Dratini
-Dragonair
-Poliwrath (possibly)
-Cloyster (possibly)
-Blastoise
-Croconaw (possibly)
-Feraligatr

Anything that's halfway decent on nearby I would chase down for sure, regardless oof time, no questions asked. I've gone out at ungodly times like 2, 3 o'clock in the morning to catch Venusaur, Polliwrath, Ninetales, Nidoqueen, Seadra, and Scyther (Scyther more than once). Even a Slowbro or two if I remember correctly (before the nerf).

This was even before the nearby tracker update and many nights I'd be walking in a circular radius trying to find that semi-rare.

If a Larvitar, Mareep or any of the good mons spawned and appeared on my nearby list I would definitely catch the fella, no doubt about it.

I saw one Ampharos, a couple of Snorlaxes and Laprases before. Didn't even think twice about leaving the bed, much more my house. Now, Unown would definitely tempt me. Provided it's not raining, I'll move my a**. If the elements are against me, I'll probably let it go and sulk in the morning.

I got out for a Dragonite a week ago at midnight. 55 iv but good moves and high lvl so well worth it. Would go for Snorlax or Tyranitar but not much else.

I got out for a dratini a week ago at midnight. I needed candy for my Dragonite who drop out of the gym.

Tauros, Kangaskhan, Farfetch'd, Heracross or Corsola
In other terms, nothing, cause I live in western Europe.

At christmas holiday I went out in snow, at 3 am, two consecutive nights for a nearby dratini. I have a very understanding GF. :-)

I'd be really tempted to go for an Unown, but I probably wouldn't - especially because my bed is a long-ish walk from nearby stops. If I could know that it was actually nearby, as it was with the old tracking system, I'd be more likely to try for it.

I also have hope that Unown will eventually become less rare. Otherwise it seems that the gold medal will be nothing but a cruel joke to legit players who don't use external sources. If getting the first in the collection is a one-in-a-million chance, each subsequent new one will be less and less likely... until the final one, which will have a one-in-twenty-six-million chance of spawning.

Dragonite, blissey, tyranitar or sunflora. It stays a couple of minutes before dissappearing after despawning from your radar.

I did it about a few months ago for an Exeggutor. I was already in bed, contact lenses taken out, and ready to check out for the day, about 11:30 PM, with a 7AM commitment the next day. I was traveling for work so was by myself; decided to go for it! Bad news was that she was like a level 10 or close to it... Good news was that she had Confusion and Solar Beam. Now she's at level 30 taking out Vaps like a boss.
