Deep Dragonite Experience
Have you met wild Dragonite?
I used to believe it was a urban myth, but with help from para-event currently running...yesterday afternoon 16:21, for the first time in more than 3 months, I met one in front of one of the main city landmark.
I was amazed and took a couple of pictures in AR. The Dragonite had 2307 CP. I threw Berry+Ultra+Curve...but it broke free. I repeated...5 or 6 more times, and eventually the Dragon fled.
I didn't want to believe...my first wild Dragonite, where has it gone...
I was depressed and everything felt like falling apart and lose importance...
I realized how addicted I'm getting to this game, and the non-sense I'm being led to...
I felt frustrated and disappointed, what a let down...I thought of the opportunity I had lost...How much I wanted an attacking yellow Dragon (When only having a defensive one).
During the rest of the rainy day I thought if I could somehow quit with the game. In the night I kept on wandering in the city, catching dozens of Jigglypuff.
While I was talking on phone with my mother (still with game active) I see the chance. Surprisingly, 23:24 a Dragonite appeared on the radar, and I announce on the phone I have the chance to heal my pain.
I go straight. Screenshot. Engage the pokemon. CP:??? What, I'm level 30 and still ??? CP...Berry. Ultra Ball. Curve launch. At the first attempt the Dragonite is mine!
I threw my gloves at the sky and feel fully healed. A rainbow in the sky!
The pain had kind of gone, I gained such experience...and a 2630 CP Dragonite 13stamina 13attack 9defense Dragonbreath+DragonClaw.
That was an experience indeed...my first 2 wild big dragons in a single day...

Congratulations! I have spotted 2 wild Dragonites, one fled, and the other was really weak (~20% IVs).
What I want to know is what the girls on the steps thought about some random person taking their picture? ;-)
Looks like you live in a beautiful, architectural city (if that picture is any indication of its surroundings). Must be a lot of fun to play there.
I found one near my office back in September. I was shaking when I tried to catch it and most of my Ultraballs were too short. I caught him with the second ball that actually hit him. I powered him up and put him in a gym - he remains there for almost two months now, although it is not a rural gym! (Will I ever see my Dragonite again?)
Got one in august. Saw it nearby on sightings on the way to work, then it popped up. Caught it at level 11 or 12, powered it up to 14. IVs are 15A, 14D 1S, moveset is DB+HB. I probably wasted about 10 ultras not knowing how far you have to throw them.
Not gonna power it up any further, would take too much to get it to mid 20s, I've got a few Dratinis that can get evolved and I really want Dragon Claw for that dodge efficiency.
2 nights ago, I almost fell asleep on my couch and phone vibrated. Pokémon appeared. Shocked to find a wild Dragonite in my living room. Shock is understatement. Super happy and could not contain my excitement. Caught it and check the CP, moveset, and iv stat. This is worse than not catching a wild dragonite. Less than 20% IV, bad moveset, low CP. My excitement of catching a wild Dragonite in my living room just hit the floor with DISAPPOINTMENT. Maybe having a bad Dragonitee is better than not having one but, this one is worthless to invest any star dust and candies.
