Steelix Defender?

I evolved a hatched onix with double steel moves and 89 iv during the event. I'm tempted to power it up somewhat anyway. Does anyone have experience fighting this thing? It's CP will have it sitting fairly low in gyms here, so mostly I want to put it in high turnover gyms to frustrate attackers.

I'd wait until the gym overhaul that's coming soon. It might change the way CP dictates gym placement.

I agree with your idea and some Steelix are useful. A new defender is fun and it would frustrate people. Also, If you have a need for attacker, your Steelix may help against blissey.

However, as was said, I would wait for stardust investment until the gym changes.

Alright I'll wait for the changes. I did use it to prestige once yesterday against an octilary it took SE against (for quick moves) and was NE into it (for quick and charge moves) and I still almost won without dodging (phone was lagging so I didn't try to dodge). I was about 75 CP lower than the octilary.

The best thing about Steelix is that it is very intimidating when you fight it. It is like 3x the size of a dragonite. It will make you shiver and question your masculinity. That alone makes it a better defender than Blissey.
