Is anyone else boycotting buying pokecoins?

Generally I would spend about 10 bucks a week on incubators. Putting in 10-15km a day and cracking through eggs. This was mainly for the reason to build a strong group of defenders so I could generate more pokecoins in game. No more after last update! It was a tedious process leveling up friendly gyms as it was, and churning through 5 k eggs was a pain, who the heck needs 10 Rapidash anyways? It has completely changed my view of the game, it's now just scorched earth policy on opposing gyms and who the heck cares about trying to hold gyms, or level up Pokémon? 2ks go in the unlimited incubator, when those are gone, the 5 ks go in, whatever pokecoins I can manage in game will go towards the 1 or 2 10k I get a week not buying incubators. Has this update changed anyone else's gameplay?

I tried not buying incubators but I quickly realized how much dust I was lacking without them. I don't like catching every single Pokemon I see. I hardly ever ever catch anything unless it's something like a dratini or something rare. It's more of a walking game than a catching game for me at this point. Gyms were a joke in my area long before people complained on here. It's more about completion for me.

Without eggs things got stale real fast. I just need a near perfect lapras and snorlax. Without eggs I would probably never get them. So niantic will continue to my money...for now

Yeah, I hate catching Pokémon as well.... I've read your stuff on other forums, and am aware of your area. :) Mines not super large city, but can frequent 10-15 gyms on a daily basis without going too much out of my way... Small enough you get to know the opposition, their Pokémon, their movesets, but now sometimes I check em out and it's level 3 with 3 pokes in it under 1500 cp and not a player over level 16, it's romper room. Game is different for everyone depending on their location, aspect of game they enjoy the most, etc

I do hope they change things back soon for everyone's sake. I can't comment on taking gyms down, they are all the same color here. But I tried to prestige one from 7 to 8 yesterday and immediately gave up after getting like 300 or something awful.

Yep, I left for work an hour early today to level up two friendly gyms I wasn't in. I got in one and started on the other, did the math in my head and the second just wasn't gonna happen, I've got no problem with that, but the fact that if they were opposition and I coulda dropped em both and stopped for breakfast is a bit of an imbalance.

In my area, each team had territory, and the gyms became stagnant in that territory. The gyms would be level 10 of the same color for weeks at a time. The problem with this was I saw more and more valor gyms and less and less of the other teams. It almost seemed like the other teams were giving up. But now that it's much easier to take down gyms, I see a lot of turn over, which has brought back the fun of the competition. For me it was getting boring throwing my pokemon in a gym never to see them again, or worse, to get pushed out by one of my own team mates never to get back in a gym again because they were already same team, level 10. To me the imbalance, for now, is a good thing.

Yup, its obvious the gym update was not just done to fix stagnation, but also to prevent us being able to get a decent amount of coins from gyms. So I'm also boycotting buying coins and i used to buy them each pay without fail

I have not spent anything on the game at all- I was tempted to buy incubators during the Halloween event but managed to hold off!

I use to play this game alone and therefore it is hard for me to earn a good place in gyms. However, it was possible to level a gyp up within at most half an hour (even from 9 to 10). Not so after the update. It is sooo tedious to level up a gym even from Level 3 to 4 - I didn't occupy a new gym ever since. Fortunately I have still 8 Pokemon sitting in level 10 gyms, because I completely lost my ambition to level up friendly gyms.

And no - they won't see any more money from me. I didn't spend much anyway.
