How do I leave just the second defender?

So, assuming gym is level 3, prestige at the level of the image posted below. How would I kick out the bottom (third) defender and leave the next (second) defender with as low prestige left as possible while it still stays in the gym?

Win four more battles, then run away.
Each win removes 1000.
Going below 4000 keeps two mons
Going below 2000 keeps one mon.

you can bring it down to 2192 and two mons will still be in the gym.

I assume the #2 mon is a blissey.

Wut? Are you asking how to take this espeon out of this gym and leave it with little presitige? It seems the guy below me has it at the right end

Initial prestige = 6192.

Take all 3 down in one attack and you reduce the prestige by 3 +1 (for a clear out) = 4 k to leave 2192, which leaves 2 defenders in place.

Perhaps to answer your unasked question: to avoid battling the 3000 cp Blissey at all, you need to take down the first defender (Espeon in this case) 5 times, running away each time, to reduce the prestige to 1192 (i.e. below 2000) to leave only one defender.

You at most can beat the Espeon three times.
After the third win, it will be knocked out of the gym.
You'd have to at least beat the Blissey once.

Huh, so let me get this straight. I can either a.) beat Espeon and Blissey together twice, or b.) beat just Espeon four times. Both options will give me the same prestige loss?

As soon as the gym gets under 4k, the Espeon will get knocked out. So you at most can beat that mon 3 times.
61xx -1000 = 51XX (esp still in)
51xx -1000 = 41XX (esp still in)
41xx -1000 = 31xx (esp knocked out)
Must beat blissey once to get gym down to 21xx
