Oh, I hit 40 this morning. ???
Many long nights turned to early mornings, but I did with grace, and I did it with muscle. Few lucky eggs, little GO Plus, little driving, no Bubble Strat, no 2x phone evolve, no multi device play -- MY 40 IS DIFFERENT!
And now I can finally enjoy the game.

I hit 31 before the event, and used the event to get to 32. Once I hit level 30 I decided I was done with lucky eggs. I had saved a modest amount of candies and managed to use them all gradually throughout the week.
What I really want next is shorter busy distance as I'm grinding toward my first (yes, first ever) Dragonite. I got my first every Dratini during the water festival and I've been at it for a couple weeks now. I could really use some help lol!

I bought a 25 pack of lucky eggs during the event, and am now down to 19. I am most of the way through level 37 now though and have realized that when I reach level 38, there isn't really any further benefit to leveling since it won't allow me to power up my pokemon anymore. Maybe I went overboard with the lucky eggs. It will still be nice to hit 40, but I wish there was a benefit to it.

May I ask, 'cause I've been wondering... What do you aim for once you reach the top level? Do you think it will get higher than 40? Would you want it to?
As for lucky eggs, I have 200 now - well, nothing spawns near my house, no pokestop anywhere near, I depend on mass evolutions and double XP to be able to compete with city players ;) And it was a nice discount.

If you love the game, you create. Meaning you keep yourself busy. I'm going to spend more time at nests and gym battling, and catching for dust. As per new level caps being added, we think they might be, but I'm not gonna go crazy w that, in going to enjoy the free time and play to have fun, I really grinded hard to 40. Whoa, you have a lot of eggs, I'm jealous, lol. ?
This is the only game that I have ever played so I am not so familiar with the game scene. I always wonder what would happen if diligent gamers would have achieved if they can put their enthusiasm into something else like doing a PhD or something. Level 40, wow, using those efforts, you could have learnt a new language.
Anyway, I guess gamers do have the drive but one thing about game is its instant satisfaction, which other endeavors won't have that. Damn, I am using a whole day thinking about how my result is periodic,?
Congrats on joining club 40 man! Lvl 40 players usually become pokemon go youtubers e.g. Reversal, ProdigiesNation, and Poke AK. Let me know if you make youtube videos and if you haven't, I suggest you to try it since lvl 40 players are very rare. I started from almost lvl 33 and now I am only lvl 34, halfway to lvl 35, even after the event, sad. I bought 8 lucky eggs though to ensure I won't be having hard times leveling up to 35. I planned these lucky eggs to be my last ones, after that I would grind for dust, not exp since I won't have the mentality to grind like you once I reached lvl 35.
