Sure...and then in Gen4 you can make it a Rhyperior

Tbh, better NOT evolve this into Rhyperior and should send one of those Rock Smash or megahorn ones to evolve instead lol

Go for it. I maxed out my 100% IV with mudslap mega horn (sigh) but amazing how much CP at 100%. 2994 at level 32.

I haven't got enough candy to max out my 100 iv rhydon but I was pretty happy when I hatched it.

Just to play devil's advocate maybe hold off, for now. IV will always be important, but maybe with the gym re-work CP won't be as important. In the end if you are using him as a defender, he's kinda like Gary (gym skimmer). If you NEED him as an attacker and have the dust, then go for it! Otherwise regardless of IV / CP I can take down any Rhydon with a 2400 CP eggy in about 15 seconds.

Definetely do it. I have maxed out my level 14 Rhydon rs+eq and it always sits high in gym for a long time. It also adds diversity to very high CP gyms.

I am not debating how gyms work now. We all know Rhydon sits up super high in gyms then you just use your army of Vapes (which everyone has now) on it and it dies in about 10 seconds. I was just saying, I have a funny feeling that they are going to change this feature. I don’t think CP will be the end all for gym placement anymore. It would be a shame if OP dumped all that dust into something and then Gyro and Rhydon get whats coming because they are both crap defenders, just used by people to outrank others in gyms so they can collect coins. They do not add gym diversity in any region. I play in a water biome where you only get Rhyhorns along the rocky coast (fairly rare mon) and about 30% of all gyms are Rhydons, regardless of the fact that everyone here has an abundance of water mon to take them out.

No I am the idiot for not realizing that and typing up a long winded response about something that everyone here already knows : D

PokeBattler simulation needs - depending on dodging strategy - 21..25 seconds. (2500 Egg, 3100 Rhy)
Vaporeon remains under 20 seconds.

I wouldn't power him up. His main use is as a very high gym defender, and yes yours would have very high CP. But to me I wouldn't want to spend almost 200,000 stardust on a gym defender who isn't very good at defense. Also as others have said, we don't know what changes are coming to the game.

I have a 98 IV rhydon with mud slap Megan horn (I worked so hard to get enough candies, it took forever to walk him and there were no rhyhorns in my area).... so disaapointing

I'm betting on mega horn change to 2 bar move with increased damage. It currently the best bug move and still sucks. With all the dark Pokémon there needs to be a good big counter....

If Mega Horn became a two-bar move it might become Rhydon's best defensive move.

However, I still think it is really weird that Drill Run is in Pokemon Go but Rhydon doesn't learn it. I'd almost prefer Rhydon swapped Earthquake for Drill Run.
